For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I got a call also. I ALMOST missed it cuz I was in the car singing and had the music turned up. My SR said that yes they are getting all their flags but just barely. And their sister/brother division 179 got to do Marlinspike 3 times and did great but they only had one shot and got tons of safety hits. Mine is sick but pushing thru it so he doesn't have to stay there longer than necessary.
That's great that he worked on the flag! I can't wait to see what they all came up with. Sailors from their division will carry their flags but I'm not sure who gets to do that. Maybe he will be :)

Julie, Marlinspike is the simulated ship (not the Trayer they use in Battlestations 21) wherein they have to dock a ship, simulate a man overboard, etc. My son said it was HARD, and 180 did not do great, but they pulled through. Happy Mother's Day Moms! Shed a few tears today watching the graduation videos on Youtube. Don't do it until you have your waterproof mascara affixed :)

I think I'll pass on watching the graduation videos on Youtube and wait for 11/180's. I will definitely need the waterproof mascara. Or maybe I just shouldn't wear any mascara! Lol

My youngest son M's, G F got a call from him yesterday, and she was just ecstatic since she had missed his call twice. The second time she called me just sobbing :( M spent the whole time talking with her as the was the first time they have talked since 3/29. She came over to the house later and related that they were doing well but still have the sinus infections. He can't wait for graduation and to be able to see all of us. They have had their pictures taken already too and hopefully they remembered to order the dvd, for grandparents that couldn't attend.Just 19 days to go!

thanks and to you Julie. I wrote in my son's letter today how proud I am to be his Mother and although I will miss him tomorrow, I am glad he is where he is doing what he is doing. A couple of years ago he gave me a tiny pink rosebush for Mother's Day. I noticed today it is flourishing. There is new growth all over it. I could not help but smile thinking of my boy doing the same thing.

Happy Mother's Day to all my new friends. I hope you all have a great day (i.e., a phone call!!!!). I'm feeling a little sad today, as I imagine all of you are. It's the first Mother's Day that I haven't been with my son. But, I'll get to see him soon and that is what keeps me going....and knowing that he is where he should be. This is another of those milestones...of letting go...and it is a process that we have all been going through now for 6 weeks. We've all come a long way...from the first fanatic 3 weeks...to now when I have come to a more peaceful place and look forward to what the future holds. Have a great day ladies, and thank you for all your support and for just being there for me. It has helped more than I can say.

got a letter. It is not dated byt he said "today they told us the Seals took Osama down yestarday." so that would mean he wrote it a week ago?? I guess our mail is VERY slow getting here! He said they shot the 12 guage and he things he got sharp shooter but he would not find out for a few days! But sence I just got the letter I did not know to ask him about it yestarday...oh well. He said BC is fun now! It is not bad at all!
