That is very funny, I guess 6 weeks with only a few girls with butchered hair and no make-up can make boys crazy fro picture of attractive young ladies lol.

vonvon- sorry you missed the call.  hopefully you will get another soon!

My son said they had personal and weapons inspections this week along with Hell Week.  That's about all i know.  He said some of his buddies were jealous that he got a copy of his Facebook page. I went to his page and printed it out so he could see the updates on his page.

20 more days :)  can't wait!

At least your son is talking..lol  I saw an earlier posting of sending the FB page- I sent my sons out a few days ago. I think thats a great idea- I'm sure your son enjoyed seeing all the comments his friends and family have been leaving him. My son and I watched sports together (single mom here..lol) Every monday I send him the newspaper highlights for football and baseball.

vonvon- do you have any other children?  That is awesome that you and your son watched sports together.  I always wanted my son to watch the Packers with us, but he was not a sports fa.  We go to car and snowmobile races alot though.  19 more days!!
hey everyone.  Got a couple of letters today:)  My son's tone sounded much better than the previous weeks letters.  So that is a relief!  He said hell week wasn't that bad.My son is quite the writer.  In his letter, he put a day by day of what hell week consisted of.   I guess this division did really well, and DIV 349 IS THE LEADING DIVISION right now out of all that are graduating 10/21.  That is awesome.    He said they all got a ribbon the other day for National Defense (not sure what that is...)  They had their pictures taken today, all of them except division pictures and had pics taken for their ID cards and got their dress uniforms back and refitted.  Last Sat they got IT'ed for an hour and he don't really know whey, but said it was cool.  (LOL)  They had Test #2 and the division got a 4.2 which is good.  Last but not least he thinks this division will get one more call.  Let's hope so.  He mailed his sister a letter and it said that if they remain the leading division that they MAY earn phone and computer/Facebook time. how cool would that be!  GO 349!!  any other news?

Philly 5-  Thank You so much for the update!!  Now we all must remember to keep our phones with us at all times so we don't miss our calls

Wow ... Philly5 .. THANK YOU!!  My son is a man of few words.  I received a letter from him the other day and he too sounded happier than he had in previous letters.  He also said it was Hell week and that it really "wasn't all that Hellish".  I'm SO grateful to your son for being "a writer"!!  I've been trying very hard to win a photo of our division on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Yesterday I overslept and darn it if I didn't know exactly where the answer was. To add insult to injury the RTC said it was a full 30 seconds before anyone responded.  Today my husband had the right answer but I quickly typed in MY wrong answer.  Yea, yea .. I know I should have listened to him.  :))  Had I typed his answer I still would have missed it as the winner one the person who's name was right above mine.  So, I'm thinking that I'm getting closer!  LOL

My phone is safely tucked away in my bra.   :-)
best place.  lol

Philly5, the National Defense ribbon is a yellow and red ribbon that they all received because they are active duty during a time of conflict, ie Iraq and Afghanistan.

OK now I am confused Do ya'll think there will be 2 different MeetnGreet groups on Thursday night - one at the Ramada and one at the Sundance Saloon?  Maybe the saloon is just going to try it for the first PIR group in October and see how it goes. Guess I might call both places next week just to check.
what is the Sundance Saloon?
