Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 037 & 038

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

We got our room reservations and plane tickets booked for graduation. We are so excited to see our son. Dec. can't come quick enough

We plan to arrive Thursday.  When will ya'll be  going?

We are coming in on Thursday also. Our flight comes in at 1:40, so we thought that would give us so e to e to get adjusted and were thinking about going to the meet & greet. I'm looking forward to seeing our son a d also meeting some of these fantastic moms that we have been chatting with.
It's so hard trying to figure out how to make reservations without anything for certain....but I think I will book everything tomorrow since I'm pretty sure I've checked out all our options.....can't wait to see everyone since we all have one thing in common!!! Also div 37 :)
We felt the same way but our travel agent said go ahead and book the flights because they were only going to increase in price. If for some reason things change the airline said that they would credit the amount we have already spent to the new tickets a d being that weekend (Xmas) I didn't want to wait to long. Looking forward to meeting everyone also. Happy planning.

Maybe it's best to go through Travel Agent?   I haven't thought of that but all airlines told me I'd have to pay $150 per ticket if I had to change dates.   ;(    We are thinking now that we will just drive it so we can go and leave when we want to ..... It's a 14 hour trip.    The weather is our only concern although we would be in a 4-wheel drive.   Any suggestions??

We were thinking maybe we would drive but we live in South Florida and it would take 2 days and the weather issue is our problem. We have never drove in snow so that's why we made the decision to fly.

Last night around 9:30 my SR called! I was so excited! It was somewhat scripted (he needed some info faxed to the base) but just to hear his voice! It set my mind at ease, because I heard no fear in his voice. I asked him 2 times "are you doing okay"? He said "Yes Mom I am fine". I knew time was limited so I said "I love you, I miss you and Stay Strong. He said "I love you too Mom"! It was a 2 minute call but that was the push I needed!

So excited to get to know everyone!   My name is Mary.  My recruit's name (called at home) is Griffin.  I am sure they call him SR Shell.  He is a very friendly guy and in normal day to  day civilian lives keeps everyone around him hopping and laughing.  He can come up with impromptu raps about ppl...loved to make them up about his dad....  (we love to pick on his very serious dad).  He is a hard worker and never meets a stranger.   We are from the upstate in South Carolina. I teach first grade, Griffin's dad is a SC State Police Captain, and his sister is a senior in high school.  These past 2 weeks have been so hard and yes I have cried a lot.  Thank God Sutton is still home with us. She keeps me busy with cheerleading and tumbling! Look for her in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade !!!!   Got "The Box" which was traumatic and the form letter which I celebrated!!!!   Can't wait to hear from him in order to get an idea of how it's going!     MISS him but SOOOOO very PROUD!!!

Mary..you almost definitely just described my family...My husband is a police officer...my daughter is also a senior in high school and an all star cheerleader...and keeps me very busy with competitions...but I also have a "surprise" child, my 6 year old daughter who is my SR's best friend...ever since we brought her home from the hospital they are inseparable

AWWWWW, my husband was in first grade when his mom had "surprise' child... :)

Sutton also made All-American!!!!  Wow!   They will have alot in common and to talk about!   We have a competition New Years weekend in Nashville!    Griffin and his sister are very close.  She looks up to him and this has been so very difficult for all of us but she has been at a loss.   She is doing better though since this NY trip is coming up and we are busy planning for that etc.  Their grandmother died on Friday before his departure on the following Thursday so we were very worried about him for that.   All of you moms are helping me so much!!!!   I can't wait to meet everyone!   We also plan to go to the Meet and greet.on Thursday!   Can't wait to see Griffin!

My daughter has a competition the first weekend in January...and was worried that we would be in Chicago for it...so glad that we are able to see them for Christmas..and even better if they are able to come home.  I'm sorry about their Grandmother...my father actually died on June 1st this year...and he and my son were buddies(my son is the 1st grandchild).  So much in common, its unreal.  Enjoy your trip to NY...it will be a great time for you all.  Do we know yet when and where the meet and greet is?
