For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 173 and 174.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Just heard from my son and he said divisions 173/174 are now on ship 9 and they can't write until tomorrow because they became a push division and had to wait for it to fill up

How are you addressing his mail? Ship 9, but are you leaving our the Kearsarge? I assume they'd have a different ship name as well. Dont want his mail delayed if I can avoid it. How are you doing?

Hi all, just got a 17 minute call from our son!!! Be aware and patient if at first you can't hear them. First attempt we couldn't hear a thing, but I told him that I read on here a warning from a mom that there are some phones that don't work and to hang up and try again. Second time incoming 847 area code with same last four digits didn't work again. Started to get frustrated, but I again told him to try a different phone with hopes he heard me. Waited about ten minutes then finally he called (847 area code, but different last four digits) and we could hear him, Hallelujah!!! He used up all minutes left on his card trying the previous calls, but an angel of a Recruit let him use his phone card. Thank You whoever you are!!! All is good. Also, those on Ship 11 during P-week, which lasted almost two weeks for them, are NOW on SHIP 9(JFK)/ DIV 174. You should see this on the personal letters that they can now send home. Take care everybody and I hope you get your call! Feeling like a kid on Christmas morning. :)) ~Cate88

Great news. My daughter also called about 1:00 p.m. I was out running an errand but got to talk for about 20 minutes. She sounded great and is getting used to it. She said the peanut butter shot really hurt. I was worried when she told me they didn't finish their P-days until a week ago Tuesday but she said they will still graduate 5/3. Cate, my daugher Jen is also in 174. They are probably friends. I hope everyone gets their phone calls this weekend! Take care everybody!

Rachel, when I talked to my so on Saturday he didn't say anything about Ship 9 vs Ship 11. I am not sure what to put on my mail to him. He did tell me that they have been in Pdays this whole time and officially start training tomorrow. I guess this is what happens with a push division. They'll be pushed to get everything done and still graduate on time. Not sure if this is good or bad. I suppose it depends on the kids themselves. Well I'll be thinking of and praying for everyone, especially those that have come down with scabies and other sicknesses. Rough times. Keeping fingers crossed.

I thought I was the only crazy person up this late. U am still trying to figure out this site so sorry sometimes it takes me a bit to respond. I also use my phone and not my computer which makes it harder to find stuff. My son said his division officially starts training tomorrow. They have been in p-days this whole time. They will cram everything in in less time but still graduate as planned.

Hi Holly, my daughter told me that they were ship 9 now but that they were still graduating on time. She didn't mention to me that anybody was sick. I hope they are all okay. You are right. It is relieving to hear their voices. Take care, Irene.

I just received my letter. I was shocked almost 2 full pages and my son hates to write, usually just texts what he wants to say. Hope you all receive yours today or tomorrow.
Kelli the letters didn't mail out until Monday.
