OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE - 2020**

Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 297 and 298

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Just got a call from my SR...Div 297. He said they got their mail earlier this week. Had a tough IT (intensive training?) today. He's planning on going to church tomorrow, writing his first letters home, and working on his folding. ;-)

I just got a call too. My SR is having a very hard time, might be pushed back a week.
My son called today. He said he is Division Leader. Adjusting pretty well. He mentioned his Division has gotten into trouble a few times. I guess a few people are screwing around at night and getting them all into trouble. Most likely the reason for the intensive training I would guess....
Well, I know my son isn't causing the trouble at night. He's trying to hard to succeed.

Novamom, please let your son know he's got A LOT of moms pulling for him, thanks to this website. A great big cheering section just for these sailors! :-)

Thanks jensue0.  He has said the other sailors in his division are trying to help him.  I'm glad to know that.

Hi Moms,

Have seen quite a few Div 298 but only one 297.  My son is in div 297.  His fiancee got the call when he landed.  She got the call from him for info.  I haven't actually talked to him yet.  I did finally get his address and mailed his first letter to him today.  Any info is appreciated as I have heard nothing yet!

My daughter is Div 297. We received a call on Saturday, but no letters yet.

My daughter is in Div 298 and so glad for this site. We got a phone call from her and were so happy to hear from her.  Trying to plan our trip for PIR.  Has anyone else received phone calls and any idea how often.  It has been rough for us to not communicate but working through it. Hope everyone is doing well and can't wait for PIR.

My son is Div 298 and I received a phone call yesterday.

I posted this on our main PIR page, but am wondering specifically if anyone from Div 297 has received their kid's box yet? I haven't yet...don't know if I should be worried or not. (I don't care about his clothes...just his cell phone!)

Jensue1, My son is in 297. I received the cell phone but not the clothes...also no phone call since that 1st "I'm here" call.
