Hey Ship 12, Div 057 moms please leave your name and something fun from your SR's first short note. My SR said the food wasn't "super bad" and he likes his new hair cut.  Aren't our young men and women the best!  Hope to hear from several of you soon!

This is it girls....we are headed for the home stretch! Just talking to my daughter yesterday hearing such confidence in her voice made me feel even better. Wanted to ask which pre-graduating meet and greets are ya'll going to?

I am going to attempt to go to both.  The one at Sarge's and the one at the Ramada. Which one serves Food?  I am renting a car and they don't appear to be very far from each other but I am not familiar with the area so it might be farther than I think.  We will definately go to Sarge's because a N4M here said it was the fun one when she was there at PIR in November.

I think we have decided to go to Sarge's also. Will depend on weather and how busy the traffic is if we attempt in others. We are staying at the Navy Lodge.

We rsvp'd to sarge's.  staying at the Courtyard Marriot.  Can't wait to get there to see our SR and to meet all of you!  Anyone have any last minute tips on what to bring/not to bring. Or anythng wlse important?  I am packing my PIR bag:  tissues, binoculars, chapstick, handwarmers....Anything else to add?  Am I going to be able to sleep this week???  Flying out of Boston on thurs.  see you there:)

My husband and I are planning to go to the Ramada and Sarge's.  We will be wearing our green scarfs.  Has anyone scheduled a time at each event?  We are going to fly up on Wednesday and will be staying at the Hilton Garden at Lake Forest (about 12 miles south of the Ramada).  Can't wait to see our son and to meet many of you who have helped me through this ordeal.

We are staying at the Hawthorne Suites.  We are flying in Thursday and probably won't make it to the hotel until nearly 5:00.  We will have to play it by ear. The Ramada ends at 8 so we will probably then go to Sarge's from 8-10.

Amy, we are staying at the Courtyard also.  We are flying in from Florida around 4.  We are renting a car and I have no idea where anything is!  When I talked to my son Saturday, he said he didn't think I would need binoculars, but I have seen where it is suggested, so I will probably bring them.  He also mentioned not to wear nice shoes because the snow has salt in it and ruins shoes.  Coming from flip flop weather, I have no idea what kind of shoes to wear.  I know what you mean about not being able to sleep!  So very excited this week has finally come!  Did any of you hear about getting orders yet?  My son still hasn't got his, but has talked to some going to sub school, where he will be going, and they won't be leaving right away.

Still shopping for boots, nothing fancy, low, lightweight, warm, waterproof.  Our son thought maybe thursday for orders, he is headed to Pensacola to school.  Did u rsvp for sarge's?  Look forward to meeting you, safe trip.

I did not rsvp for either meet and greet.  I am so nervous about driving around in the big city!  I am a Pensacola native!  Your son will love it here, beautiful beaches and very nice base.  Not a whole lot to do here though, compared to the big cities.

@mebw64...where are in in Florida?  I'm in Miami. My son is also going to sub school in Conneticut. Is that where your son is going?  They aren't leaving on Saturday????

I am in Pensacola.  Yes, my son is going to Conneticut for school, but he said he isn't sure if he will leave Saturday or not.  He said one guy doesn't leave for 10 days and another not until the 21st, I believe.  It would be kind of nice if he doesn't leave Saturday and we could visit a bit longer.  Is your son excited about subs?  I just can't imagine what life on a sub would be like!  But my son loves to be in the water doing anything and is always up for an adventure.

Well we should both get to talk to them later today & find out more info. My son is in div 058 & if yours is in 057 they probably did BS last night & will get to call this afternoon. I wonder if they will be allowed to come home if they have that long of a break. I'll have to ask today. Living in a tube underwater will be interesting for them. My son will be going to school for SECF, is that what your son doing too?
