My son is in this division.  Is there anyone else who is?  Let's share information when we receive letters or any other type of news.  Would love to hear that they are doing great!  Thanks,  Stephanie

My sister just asked the same thing.....  do you think Ryan will write you a letter??  I sure hope he does!!  Although he did not write a note with his box nor did he write anything on the form letter.  I will let you know just as soon as I do receive something.  Are you also on the facebook page for "US Navy Recruit Training Command"?  If so they have a trivia every Tuesday at 10:00 am ( which would be 1:00 pm in Florida) and the first person to answer correctly get their recruits division picture posted on their facebook page.  Hopefully everyone will check it out so that we can see a pictures of their smiling faces!!

Thanks for the info!  Will join it now.  Wouldn't that be a treat to see a picture of their division?

This is my daughters' division as well!  She arrived on 1/30.  As I previously mentioned to Steph, my daughter had to call home to give me some financial info for her, and told me that their Chiefs are "awesome"!  Sounds like a great start...

My  SR is in this division and he arrived on the 25th of January glad to know that BC has started but they say it doesn't always start right away.

My SR is in this divison and he arrived on the 25th Jan. Also PIR IS 8 DAYS away have anyone heard from there

SR? My last call was 3-12-12 a reward call and the letter i received was rambling. Any one know about BS21.Not the date but have this divison done it.

                                                                  FILLED WITH ANIEXTY AND WORRY

The division has not done BS21. If you send me a message, I let you know when it is.

My wife and I will be attending the graduation with our daughter. I will be instructing ( yes I can still do that) my daughteer to invite a shipmate without family attending to join her. That's what sailors and their families do.

Now here's the tradition for those of you that do the same... If you invite another sailor to join you, you're on the hook for their food and whatever entertainment you choose to engage in. :). The saving grace is the that they're not allowed to consume alcohol.

Me? The old sailor in me feels for these kids who can't have family there with them. They're as homesick as everyone else. While I'm not in a position to demand anything of anyone, I think it would be admirable if we set a goal for this division.. That NO SAILOR from division 098 will be left on their own during their first and most important of liberties.

Oh yeah... Be prepared to let that sailor use your cell phone and be ready with the cameras. Their folks, who may not be able to shell out the minor fortune that it takes to attend, might appreciate the call and the pictures.

That is a great idea!!  I will also instruct my son to do the same.  Hopefully this will get out so that everyone can do the same!!

Let's have everyone go onto the "US Navy Recruit Training Command" page on facebook right now and let's answer the trivia questions first so that we can get a picture of our recruits division posted on their page!!  Let's go 12/098!!  I would love to see a picture of my son!!  The question comes out at noon central time (27 minutes from now) and the first person to answer correctly wins the picture!!

My son is too! I got 2 letters from him yesterday :) I have been sending him a card everyday for 1 1/2 weeks. I just read that it should be on plain paper and envelopes :( I'm so embarrassed!

Hi!

Just received my 1st letter from my SR today was so excited and he said he's doing well.

I received my first letter yesterday also.  I am also glad that he is doing well.  He really misses us but said that he likes the instructors and that one of them is VERY funny.  The food is good and he loves the apples (that is funny to me!!).  He said that the strangest thing is not knowing what is going on in the world.  He has a few friends that he has met.  One from Jamaica and one from Texas that is married and has a child.  Does that fit anyones description?? :)  The thought it was cool because they were able to march in the snow the other day.  The biggest thing he said is "hurry up and wait'.  I feel much better!!
