Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisons 167 and 168.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I'm gonna have to give my maillady a big bonus at christmas time. I'm glad I'm not the only stalker I check it so many times a day its ridiculous. good luck

By the time we're leavin for PIR my maillady will probably have a restraining order against me or carry an extra can of maze, just kidding, of course

Hi all, I got a letter from my son today. I was so excited I opened it right away and I read it 3-4 times. He sounded more upbeat than in his phone call and he said how much he has changed in these first 2 weeks. So happy YAH, I can't wait to see him.

Miss G your too funny! Frandnavymom  -glad you got a letter and he sounded more upbeat. I know the letters and calls help a lot on both ends. Thanks guys for sharing tidbits of your letters. I hear the 1st 2 weeks are the toughest so here are to better days for us and them. My husband said to tell your boys/girls it is a team effort in boot camp and quicker they learn that the better off they will be. Do pre-inspections on one another, help out studying, help with exercising. Team work, team work, team work. One fails they all fail, that's why they are punished as a group. Go division 168/169!

Got a letter. Very small almost didn't see it behind postcard. He said he didn't have much time to write, but was gonna write a little each night and mail out Sunday. I guess I have to wait till next Thursday to hear about daily life. He just said sorry he didn't get to talk to me and to make sure I always have my cell on me. I must admit I'm not very good at that. Said to please write everyday so he had something to look forward to each night. Missed us terribly and that was about all; very short, but atleast I got some contact. Good luck everyone and Rtarbaby - hope he didn't have watch Sunday night and you get letter.

I will know soon enough 1proudmama, the wife gets home before I do, so she will call and let me know. I told her not to get her hopes up, could be today, tomorrow, or sat. I have taken to keeping myself very busy, avoiding the idle mind and hands. Decided to completely remodel his room while he is away, making it more of a basement apartment type thing. keeps me busy, and my mind focused on the task at hand. Hope you all hear from your SR today, and for her sake, hope we get a letter as well.

Just got her first letter! It was actually very emotional. She wrote it the day they moved to their new barracks. Said she was exhausted & on a nonstop emotional roller coaster. Getting yelled at & cussed at the entire 1st week. She is worried about getting too many "hits" and being set back 2 weeks in training. I'm sure the RDCs drill that fear into them so that they will succeed. It was hard reading her letter. However, she sounded good when she called Sat. So, I think she will be fine...she did send a short p.s. note after we talked telling us it was really hard and to keep writing.

We got Courts letter last night.  She sounded upbeat, but tired also.  She made me laugh when she said, "well mom in all the years you tried to get me to stop biting my fingernails, it finally happened!  Who knew the Navy would be responsible for that!!"  I've been cutting out clips of her favorite TV shows, sports and news for her to read.  I bet they are exhausted by the time the head hits the pillow!

Anyone have a SR going to A School in Pensacola. His job class is Aircraft Handler. Is job class the right wording???

Hi TAN'S MOM, my daughter is going to Pensacola. Avionics.

Yeah Pensacola!!!! Have you found a group for Pensacola A School???

I got my letter today!!! Super excited :-) He said he was doing "really great"! Talked about a shot called "peanut butter"...lol! Said he is enjoying seeing snow everyday...considering we are from North Texas.  He said he took his swim test and it was actually kinda fun... :-) Hoped to go shooting next week.  He said he looks forward to mail call, so keep writing...send pictures, ask questions and tell him what's going on back at home.  Sounds like he is right on track to a great future. Made my heart happy...for sure! Gotta get back to writing those letters to my son. Hope other's received their comforting phone call and/or letters as well!
