We received a letter from our daughter on Thursday. She mentioned that her division hasn't gotten mail yet (keep in mind this was dated the 14th & we got it on the18th) Apparently, someone has to be able to past a test and as of the 14th no one was able to. She said it could only be someone who doesn't have a job already. As much as we want mail from them, I know they all need letter from us.I just hope they start getting our mail soon!
Bummer on the test!
We received our letter today, dated 11/14. He says they always have to do P.T. because they always get caught talking and the "heads always dirty." We were just so happy to finally hear from him.
Bummer. I doubt my kid's cleaning the head then because he's done it at home for years and knows exactly what a clean bathroom looks like. No mirror streaks. No pee on the floor. No toothpaste on the chrome. And, he had to hose down and clean pool bathrooms as a lifeguard too.
My son was on the head crew for awhile but quit because it was so stressful...some of the recruits do "nasty" things to be funny...and mess it up as a joke...it is one of the most stressful jobs in the "ship" at RTC...my son's crew used their extra tooth brushes because they wanted to beat their brother division in a "head to head" competition...and got beat for it...lovely...lol
Brittsmom and cookiemaker.... please share also on the regular 01-07 site.... its nice for others to know you are getting letter and what they are saying... I am not on all the time but a lot and I dont see yall post there - not that I recall anyhoooo.... So thank you! Excited about your letters and they will be down for the most part... Calls will be a little too. They are pooped kids! Any hoooo please come and peek in on the regular site and share too. =0D
I did on SAturday or Sunday. It was short. I don't post a lot anywhere. I'm a short poster.
I guess I must be a little confused. I didn't realize that we were supposed to be double posting everything. Seems a bit redundant to me, but I guess I do know how to copy and paste if we really need to.
Suzi and Hoosiermom - you dont have to double post... just please be active in the regular chat area as well with all the divisions together... your thoughts, feelings, heart, questions, ideas are needed by all even if they are not your division. Happy holiday!
I think today was the first day I truly missed my son to the point I wanted to all-out cry. It just didn't seem right without him there to play and giggle with his 3-year-old cousin, talk with his aunts and uncles and sigh with contentment after the holiday meal. And no phone call. I just don't get why he has not yet earned a phone call after an entire month of being there. Am I bummed, you bet I am! So there. And I don't want one bit of sympathy. I'm just venting.
I feel your frustration. We too were hoping for a call. We joined with our neighbors for T-giving dinner and I even took the handset to the cordless phone and did a test call to make sure it would ring, just in case he called. No luck..... Maybe Sunday???? Let's hope!
I joined you all in having a very hard Thanksgiving without my daughter. I hope that I will get used to her not being here at the same time that I am hoping that I do not. Yes, she is doing an amazing thing and I could not be more proud of her for it. Yes, it was her choice and I am thankful that I gave her the encouragement and skills she is using to follow her dreams. Does that mean that I don't deserve to talk to her every now and then? I just don't think so. I will be the first to admit that I may be acting like a spoiled child, but all I can think right now is that, We, the parents of these amazing children, had a huge part in making them the fine young people that they are and perhaps the Navy should show a little more consideration to the parents. I knew going in that it would be two or three weeks before I would hear from her. I never expected it to be over a month. I don't know that after this experience I will be as encouraging when my youngest daughter decides she wants to join the Navy. Maybe I will feel better tomorrow. Maybe we all will. Guess I needed to vent too.
