Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 015 & 016.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

OH, BTW, I looked into hotels in the area, the closer you are to the base the more expensive the hotels are. I chose the Residnece Inn 10 miles from base and saved over $100.00 per night. It cut a 5 night hotel stay in half! If you are driving in, or you are renting a car, I would look into the hotels a bit farther away for cost savings.

Thetwoj, I reserved a spot at the Navy Lodge it was $65 a night and only a mile away from PIR.  Look into it.  I just went to Navy Lodge.com on the website and found it but here is the number 847-689-1485.  Thetwoj, you are so sweet to offer to people to have somewhere to stay.  God is smiling down on you!

Kellyd, do you need to stay with somone are you OK?  Let me know, there are three of us staying in our room, but if  you need a spot you can bunk with us.  Were driving to save $$ so my Senior in HS can attend as well and he is bringing a friend.  I couldnt choose between flying and taking him, so were going to drive and take turns, although, I know I wont be sleeping while he is driving....LOL

Hi! My son is  SHIP 13/DIV O16

I got my form letter last week (he got sworn in on Sept. 25), I've written him every day since I received his address.  I'm hoping to get a letter from him soon.  I know, no news is good news.  :-) Nice to be here with all of you!

Do we have a FACEBOOK page for this Division?? my son is on SHIP 13./ DIV 016

where did he ship out from?

I talked to Sarge and was such a big help.  His service is amazing that he offers.. He also has the knowledge of the hotels.. Call him and I guarantee that he can help you out with questions. He is so nice.

I am going to take his cell phone back to him. That way he can call his friends and talk to them.  I can not wait.. Today is the begining of week 3....

We are staying at the Navy Lodge. You?

I am staying at the fairfield. I spoke with Sarge and told him I was coming by myself and wanted somewhere where I could walk if I needed to and also be close to the base and the meet and greet.  His service is picking me up at the airport and taking me to my hotel, then picking me up for the meet and greet and again in the am for the PIR.  It is going to be a nice Meet and Greet.  Sarge said that he was going to have a couple of Turkeys. I am really looking forward to this event.  I hope that we do meet..

Becybec, I am staying at the Navy Lodge as well.  We will be arriving Tuesday sometime, were driving in from Maryalnd - looking forward to meeting you.  Also, where is the link to write to sailors that are not recieving letters, i would def write to some of them if I knew there names and address.  I will also be going to SARGE meet and greet along with my son who is a senior and is missing his big bro.  Sarge told me to bring his cell phone, laptop and boxers....anyone know what the boxers are all about?

Boxers...LOL. Well, the thing about boxers is most men do not enjoy wearing the Navy standard tighty whitey underwear that they are issued upon arrival. So one of the very first things they want to do when the have graduated it get the heck out of them. The only place they can get them right away is from those coming to see them at PIR,

If you have brought them they will want to put them on ASAP, despite the fact that they are wearing their dress blues with the 13 buttons and one stealth button. I am sure the hotels find it amusing with all the tighty whitey underwear left in the trash cans.

The females also like their own undies after PIR, they aren't too fond of the granny panties they are issued either.
