Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 015 & 016.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Everything's fine, he had to get information for his Security Clearance for his job, and we managed to squeeze in two sentences of normal conversation before he had to go. I'm sure our first letters are on their way! I forgot that they can only mail letters on Sundays, as well as write letters, unless they get special permission for writing on a weekday . They get our letters everyday, but they make us wait, on tenterhooks!

My son is in this group. He is in 15. He is going to Grotin,CT. He is CT/sub.

Kellyd, our kids are together...I sure hope I get a letter today.  I could use a little Pick Me UP!

I Hope hope you get one too Pink.

BCG's are Birth Control Glasses. Military issue. Ugly things.
Lita, the Facebook navy training command page had a discussion about liberty. It stated if your sr is attending A school in Great Lakes they will be "shipping" the same day but may have holiday and/or weekend liberty. If A school is somewhere else they will most likely ship out on the 23rd.

My husband is in your sr's division. I am flying out Monday and back the following Monday. I am staying with family if he ships out early.

Best of luck to your sr.
My son is ship 13 division 015. I've received one letter from my "homesick" son. :(. I've booked a hotel from Tuesday thru Sunday. Still confused on how all this works!!! Talking to the public affairs dept. they said the recruits would have liberty until Sunday if they're attending A school there. I'm not sure where he's attending A school or how to find out?! I'm hoping there's plenty of time to do some things together!!! Does anyone have any suggestions on thanksgiving dinner?? Either way.... I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MY SON!!!!!!

Hello Amy Cusick-Spears,

I was told that it was a good idea to go to the MEET and Greet at the saloon, Its called Sarge's Meet and Great. It will be  held on tuesday eve.  He will give us all the info we need in regards to what we can do on Thanksgiving.  I also hope to spend the days following PIR with my sailor.....  Gosh I miss him so. I got my first letter from him on Friday.  He sounded so so mature...............  What hotel did you book?

Ok. I will try my hardest to get there, I hate going to these things alone. Lol. I am staying at the holiday inn express. :) is your son in ship 13 div 015? My ex husband and his wife booked the same place so my son wouldn't have to go to two different places. Apparently he's now got glasses and they're pulling his wisdom teeth... I'm sure he's not excited about either. Lol. I am so excited to see him!!! I have no idea what all we're going to do... But hopefully we'll find some fun things... Even in the cold. Lol. I think it'd be cool to go to the Macy's thanksgiving day parade... Just have no idea what kind of plans to make. Lol

Hello Amy,  Were are you coming from?  My son said that he would have to have his wisdom teeth pulled also while in boot camp. He told me this weeks before he left for boot camp.  I told him he was crazy.  If he also has to have his pulled, just knowing that I am not with him is so hard, but of course your son will be fine and get through it without you.  He will be fine. And yes, my son is in ship-13 div-015.  Do you get along with your ex and his wife?

I will be coming in from St. Louis. My son actually didn't tell me he was getting them pulled, he sent that and the fact that he has glasses now in a letter to his dad. Not sure why he didn't mention it to me? I do not talk to his dad, usually his step mom will send me info through texts. It works out best for all of us this way lol. We are all staying on the same hotel for my son, and this will be the first time that we've done thanksgiving together in over 15 years. I'm sure there will be some tension, but I know I'm a big enough person to set aside the animosity for my sons sake!! :) I don't want him to feel like he has to choose who to spend time with!!! Definitely a new adventure for all of us!!! :)
Hi Amy. My son is in the same as yours. I hope you can make it to the meet and greet my husband and i will be there as well.

Amy Cusick-Spears I know how you feel about doing things alone.  I to am going alone to chicago.. We will do this we will see our SAILORS...
