For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 14 (USS Arizona) Divisions 025 and 026 (Brother Divisions)
Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 025 and 026
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

That's awesome!! Are you part of Marriot rewards program? If not sign up I travel alot with work and family and truthfully they are generous with points, plus they truthfully save rooms for members it will come in handy now that we go to visit wherever my kiddo is at. Oh I don't know if aim going to rent a car looking at the taxi fees it seems cheaper to rent.

Has anyone actually been on the base. Are they staying on the USS Arizona or in some barracks? Just curious.

Hmmm...well, both actually!
The Recruit Barracks or "Ships" as they are called are all named after real Naval Vessels. 14 is the USS Arizona. They have artifacts from the actual USS Arizona from Pearl Harbor on the Quarterdeck (explains the term). You're Recruits pas by this daily most likely. Incredible.
The SHIP number is the number of the Barracks. (Each Ship has a Building number as well. ALL buildings on base have a Name and a Building number ) Each "Ship" is it's own building with compartments inside of them. Each Ship holds about 12 Divisions/Compartments. Each compartment houses a Division (or two if there are Integrated Divisions).

My son is in this group and is in Div 26. I can't wait to hear his voice or get a letter. I did get his PIR letter but other than that there has been no personal communication. I know that no news is good news. I just hope that it comes soon for this Mama's sake. I miss him like crazy. I have been sending him comic strips with my commentary and letters. It seems I run out of things to say. I miss him dearly and I know he is tired of hearing about the dogs. lol....
