For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son said he had good food last night and I could have sworn he said that he had Starbucks but I was on my cell phone so I could be wrong. Looks like we raised a bunch of kids with great attitudes and a knack for being team players well done ladies!!

Thanks so much! Well while I am asking questions I also would like to know what there is to do close by that my son might like to do. Like Megan My flight wont land in Chicago until about 11:30pm so I feel like Im going to try to be pulling things out of a hat. I need some direction and of course if all he wants to do is come back to the hotel room and nap thats okay too. We will be able to spend all day Saturday with him so I would love to hear of some options if anyone knows of any

Our experience with our first sailor was they were excited to just relax and take a shower alone LOL!! They really enjoy going to the Gurnee mall, it is close and they are ready to be out in the world. They also seem to enjoy the Nex that is off base. They have some money and they usually want to spend some!! In Chicago the Navy pier is nice, but just watch your time. They have been told when they can use the bathroom for 8 weeks,so the first day they are a little tense and are scared of doing something wrong. I hope this helps ypu out a little. Just make sure that you start heading back to base around 8 pm, they have to walk to the ship and it takes a while. They do not want to be late, they will take liberty from them if they are. See you in 4 days!!!!

I am so excited for PIR! I feel like I have read a ton on here about it, but I'm still a bit on edge. I want to make the most of our time with our Sailor. We are coming from Kansas. Anyone else, by chance? We can't come to the meet and greet due to our flight time. Looking forward to meeting some of you at PIR.
