My oldest son Harley is in Ship 09 Div 284.  He just graduated from high school and is 18 years old.  Have mailed off at least 6 letters already just waiting to get something back.  From what I gather we should be getting a phone call in about 2 more weeks.  Cant wait to hear his voice.  His job will be a Damage Controlman when he finishes.

banklady mom i know exactly how you feel. my son just turned 19 and left 2 weeks ago today. i right to my son everyday and have mailed out about 6 envelopes too! I seen the navy commercial yesterday and cried... ugh definitely an emotional roller coaster! I can't wait for a letter and defiantly a call from him!

Hi ladies - I got a letter from my son yesterday. So hopefully you all got one too! He sounded good. I was so happy to hear from him

My sons gf got a letter from him today, hopefully he sent me one too. or i may cry :( these boys! geez good news is she said he sounded great. said its not too bad and it is going by so fast because they are so busy!! Fingers crossed

No letter today for us. Texted his gf to see if she got one. My son left b4 he turned 18,his birthday was in boot camp-but we had a killer pre 18th/going away in a limo.kinda glad I haven't heard cause I guess no news is good news.I've been slowly doing his laundry and cleaning out his room and we are empty nesters too and going through menopause.Seems like reading all the stories makes me cry.

I know how you feel. My other son left for the Marines last Nov.So now that Mike left I have been cleaning and Painting their room and now going through clothes. I don't know what I will do when my daughter graduates in May. And she has applied for the Naval Academy and NROTCtoo!

You got a letter! That's awesome. His gf didn't get one either today,I'm not complaining,I'm so happy he chose the Navy!

why do they think that they must write the girlfriends a letter before their momma's!!  I am so glad that I got mine the same day the girlfriend!!

thats what i think too. he better write soon or ill kick some butt! glad you got one too!!

Received our first letter yesterday.  He is doing good.  Home sick but other than that he sounded really good.  Said that when they got there a few of the people came down with a stomach virus.  It was wonderful to hear from him.  He said send lots of letters and pictures.  He also said that this is going to be an amazing journey for him.  I am so glad he is so positive.....hopefully he stays that way.  Can not wait for more letters and really cant wait to see him on Sept. 7th!!!!
