Hi Mom of B and others with same thoughts of PIR, Sorry it has been awhile since I have been able to get back on here. Everyone must be in their seats by 8:30. You don't need to be there by 6:30 unless you want to, that would be to early. To be on the safe side though, try to be there by no later then 7:30. From the time we got there to the time we were in our seats it only took about an hour and we even had time to look at the pictures of their Divisions and Individual pics that they took while they were there. When you pull up to the gate, make sure you have all of your ID's and papers with your list of guests ready. BTW, if you have more then the 4 guests on the list, they will have to wait until all those who are on the list get in and then they will let the extras in. Unless there is a very big group of SR's for PIR then it shouldn't be very full, they don't normally turn guests away. Each Division has its own seating area. For instance we, Ship 9 Div 287 families, will be sitting together and we will be right in front of our Sailors so we wont have to worry about not being able to see them. The hall is about as long as a football field. From what I remember, you do walk a ways from the main gate to the hall. You may have to wait a bit to go in but it is all very well organized. The benches are a bit hard but don't complain because at least your not out on the floor having to stand at attention for the entire graduation. There will be a few SR's that will pass out. It happens.

Kristine B - Thanks for the information!  It's very helpful.

Hi, Kristine B! Our sons will be training together (mine is in Div 288). Thanks so much for posting. I think you are the first from our divisions to get the official letter.  I'm so glad PIR is 9/7. I was getting a little worried that he would be held until the next traing group. You have brightened my day!

Yes, mine too!  I didn't want to change our flights.  Maybe we'll get the official form letter today.  I don't want to hassle with changing hotels.  So, we'll stay in Chicago and get up way too early on Friday morning to go to PIR.  I can't wait to see him!  I hope he gets to spend a lot time with us between PIR and Sunday flights.  I put another letter in the mail to him today.  I don't expect for him to write us too much either.  He's not much for writing letters.  He'd rather text!

Hi Barb and Mom of B! My daughter is in ship 09/ Div 288! I am looking forward to getting to know everyone :)

Hi Em's Mom!  Welcome to our group!

Thank you, glad to be here!

Hi, Em'smom. Welcome to the group. It has been nice to "meet" other moms that are on the same journey. It seems as if Cody has been gone for weeks, but it has only been eleven days. Not sure how I'm going to make it 46 more. (Someone said to count the Fridays, but 7 Fridays still have a lot of in between days.) I can't wait to hear his voice or get a real letter.
Have you started planning your trip to GL yet?

Hello Moms,

I am mom to Dan who is ship 09 div 288 pir 9/7/12. We are from Wisconsin so its a 2 1/2 hour drive to GL which is a lot less stress. I still havent recieved a real letter from Dan! I spend a lot of time checking the mailbox. I have written and sent him about 9! I keep reading that we will get a phone call around week 3. I can hardly wait, I keep my phone by me EVERYWHERE! How do we go about setting up a meet and greet? I love to hear everyones comments. It makes me feel like I am not the only one living on the edge........
