Hi, everyone who has a SR on Ship 4, div 818. My son left on July 3. We live in Ohio. Hope to hear from all of you soon.

Again, thanks, because knowing that they are alright, through your son's messages, will surely ease all of the minds of the loved ones in Div 818. Other divisions are receiving letters already but I was hoping the reason we weren't is because they are so busy training. Hopefully we will all receive letters by the middle of next week.

As far as starting this, I'm not usually one to start things ( I tend to be a follower) but FTLW was asking for someone and we were the last ones without a discussion,  I just hope that as the weeks go by we will have a few more moms/wifes/girlfriends join us.

Thanks MamG for posting that information!  I haven't received a call or letter (just form letter and box), but my SR's Mom may have received a call if he needed info for paperwork.  Even though I know we all want to receive a letter, it's comforting to know they are ok, and busy!  I know we'll all be anxiously by the phone and checking the mail box this week!  I'm also really glad to know they've been receiving letters!  I hope that's helped keep their spirits high!  I'll continue crossing each day off of the calendar in countdown to PIR!

Hi, my son called yesterday for paperwork info. While talking to him I asked if they had gotten to mail letters; he said something about having to move stuff last Sunday so they did not have time for mail. He has gotten letters from us though. He says the same as others; he is doing ok! This was actually the second time they had him calling for info, so I had already had the "first time talking" last weekend. It was still good to talk to him!! We should get letters this coming week (if nothing else comes up there, I guess)

I don't know  if my comment from last night showed up; whatever, I don't see anything but my name so I will repost. My son is Ship 4, Div 818

My son called Friday for paperwork info. While talking to him I asked if they had been able to mail letters; he said something about having to "move stuff" last Sunday so they did not have time for mail. I didn't want to question much since it was an "info call".  He said he has received letters from us though. He says he is doing ok! This was actually the second time they had him calling for info, so I had already had the "first time talking" last weekend. It was still good to talk to him!! We should start getting letters this week (if nothing else comes up there, I guess)!!

Crickets are still chirping!  (No letter or phone call, total silence)  I'm really hoping for that 1st letter this week.  Really miss him.  Tomorrow will be three weeks, sometimes it feels like a little time, sometimes an eternity.  I find myself going in his room quite often and just standing there kind of just looking around. Everyone asks me if I've heard from him and I just want to say YES!

Same here. Everyone asked if I've talked to him and I have to tell them I haven't even gotten a letter. I would hope they had a chance to write to all of us yesterday. The other divisions are receiving letters so we should too, right?( there, I'm done whinning).  Based on what I've read, we probably won't receive letters until Wednesday or Thursday. I 'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get a letter-though a phone call would be nicer -this week.

I also am at the point where I'd rather a phone call!  I sent him with a calling card, stamps and I know he would write us first (no GF and knows we are missing him) so I'm just thinking they are way, way too busy.

ATTENTION LADIES, I was just on the Boot Camp Mom's page and Fancy Nancy said that the Facebook page for the Navy Recruit Training Command has pictures of our division. I can't verify that since I can't go on Facebook at work so you may want to check it out for yourselves. I have to wait until tonite after work (I'm really bummed about that too!!!!). She said to go www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand and beneath the little welcome note below the large picture at the top, you will see "photos. Click on that and then look at the photos. She found her son in 3 pictures. So check it out ladies and let me know if you see your SR.

There are too many albums to look through, and they all appear to be from PIR's on certain dates (so our boys wouldn't be in those) and in the "random shots" I didn't see anything that would identify the 818.  I could be missing something!  HELP!  Can she narrow down which "album" to look at?

I'll go see if she will answer. I saw a post last night (while I was trying to find the exact address for bc on facebook) that they aren't taking pictures anymore. I don't know if there was something to identify them but I thought they all looked alike lol. My hubby and I were on that page late last week and thought we were looking at "our" recruits then after we were done, saw that it was for June not July.

Sorry, everyone - I think FancyNancy's son was in a prior year - and just so happened to be in the same division.  Unless I'm completely off the wall, the last set of random pics I saw were from mid-June, which was before all our SR's arrived.  :(

I am thinking the same thing Cookie,  but its weird how her posting just showed up in the last 12 hours or so.  I texted my SR's girlfriend who is much more Facebook friendly than I am and she couldn't find them either. What a disappointment, huh? If I could access Facebook from work I would have checked it out before saying anything, so sorry ladies for getting your hopes up. Hopefully in the next few days we will all be getting letters and phone calls.
