You sound just like me! I get lost very easily, even in my own city! lol... I invested in a GPS and do not regret it for a moment. If you miss a turn, it easily and quickly reroutes you. The only thing you will need to keep up on is if your city or where your going has a lot of construction like we are going here in FL bc it may not recognize some streets so you will constantly have to update your maps (updates are available online for download and most if not all are free). I too got a Garmin and mine came with an adaptor that has real time traffic. So, if theres a detour or an accident or a lot of traffic congesting an area, it will reroute you which is awesome and like less than $50 for a year subscription. I have an OLD Street Pilot which no longer gets updated maps but definetaly worth the money as I'm getting a new one! You can find a good and new basic Garmin for under $200. ANd if you dont have an iPod or MP3 player, it has the ability to hold a memory card with songs AND even has Bluetooth built into them. Thank you both. I love my GPS unit. I bought a TomTom a few years ago. We take it anywhere we go out of our town. I definetly used it in Chicago for our daughters graduation. We will take it for both our boys graduations. We got one for our daughter as a boot camp graduation gift. She loves her. They show gas stations, hospitals, restaurants, etc. I bought my mom one as well, and she loves hers.<br />

We have a GPS and it helped us alot in Great Lakes, If you're renting a car you can also rent a GPS but I would suggest buying one if you're going to be doing alot of driving in a unfamiliar place. They are worth the money. I have a Garmin and love it and it doesn't have to be the most expensive one either. I think we have the cheapest one.
