**PLEASE REMEMBER OPSEC AND DON'T POST SPECIFIC DATES REGARDING SHIP MOVEMENT**
Dates may only be discussed AFTER they have happened.
Here's the shipping info. Remember you will need the specific box # from your Sailor. ****THIS IS A NEW ADDRESS****
There have been questions from some about seeing the ship off - where's the best location, can they get on the pier? Anyone know?
Make sure your sailor gets a "Ship to Shore" AT&T calling card. They can be purchased on the ship and can be reloaded. You will need the pin # from the card. Call 1.800.569.2018 to reload - minimum $25. ***UPDATE 12/29/15*** AT&T will be issuing new cards as of 2/1/16. You can continue to use any minutes you have on your old card after that date, but you will NOT be able to reload that card after 2/1/16. Also, until 1/11/16 if you reload your card they are giving 25% more minutes for FREE!
Here's the link to the USPS "Click & Ship". You can get free boxes/tape etc. from them too.

Is this the official address for all sailors on the Truman? I ask only because my son had given me another address. I don't know which to use. I've already sent a Thanksgiving box and he may not receive it. I have a birthday box that needs to go out. Please, someone help. thanks. Momma Bear
Yeahhhh. Just got a call from my sailor. No electronics yet but he was able to get a call out. He said they just sailed past "somewhere he had been before." So, I knew where they were without him saying a word (which he would not have done anyway). He got my Thanksgiving box today (after being at 2 post offices today with one telling me the box had been sent back to the other... guess not). He said it was the first time mail had been distributed since deployment. And he said the cookies were still good. That's amazing. Maybe he'd eat anything from home and say it's good. So, here's hoping all you mom's are contacted soon.
Woohoo BoomMom - glad you got a call! And even more glad that the box made it!!!
this address is not the one my son gave me for the Truman. How new is this address?
Julie - this is the most current address for the Truman. I am hearing that it is different though if your sailor is squadron....How long ago did your son give you the address?
My daughter is in a squadron attached to the Truman and has a different address. I questioned this at first also, but now I know the address she gave me was correct because she said she got her first box :-)
My son (nuke) said he had thawed mozzarella sticks and a beef roll for T-giving. Yet navy.mil has a pic of CNO serving up turkey? What have you heard :) :)
My husband told me the CNO was indeed serving turkey, but he works nights so he missed out on the good stuff!
Thanks! According to the CNO's FB page, he wasn't scheduled to go the nukes, but did, because that was his background in the Navy. :)
I just received an email from my sailor. He sounded good. He finally got his own email address. He had a good Thanksgiving. He has been working out everyday. I am so proud.
WooHoo - glad he finally got his email ;-) Nice to hear he is doing well - makes you feel better, right?!
Yes, thanks. I hope he can continue to email me every chance he gets.
I really appreciate all the posts you add. I really need all the help and encouragement.
