Mama Scha - and others missing your kids / recruits, I have started recognizing over the course of the last 2 + years and 3 birthdays that my son has been in, that everything they go through, and everything that we go through is all training for on down the line. At BC - it is hard! But the Navy is hard. The silence is awful for those of us use to talking to our kids every day and even hugging them every day - but when they go on radio silence in the fleet - well we look back and know that…

At BC - it is hard! But the Navy is hard. The silence is awful for those of us use to talking to our kids every day and even hugging them every day - but when they go on radio silence in the fleet - well we look back and know that at least at this silence we knew exactly where they were suppose to be.

We hold on to the "No News is Good News" and our prayers and stay strong ourselves for our children and our family. Which is why this is such a great place to come and share our emotions and know that we will not be judged.

Hugs to you and the other BC Moms - A suggestion, I started writing emails to my SR when he first went it and then I copied those and printed and mailed. But that way, he had all of my words of encouragement in his email for later that he could download if he wished to his computer or phone and have it with him always!! Also, every time I opened up a communication to him I had his smiling face looking back at me!
My Daughter will be fine 3 we…tag:navyformoms.ning.com,2019-10-15:1971797:Comment:106683062019-10-15T02:03:08.312ZMom of Navy girlhttps://navyformoms.ning.com/profile/Twinnies

To all the newer moms on here, hang in there! The weeks I wasn't able to communicate with my son were the worst for both if us. As soon as you get the form letter, write as much and as often as you can. Our kids depend on comfort coming from our words from home. I'm in that last week. The communication dies down now as well. The only thing getting me through is waiting for that " I'm a sailor" call. May God grant our kids and us parents peace and rest tonight. Hugs to you all!

Hugs to you Mama Scha. My son is in his fifth week, but was in P-Days from September 4-September 16. It was agonizing until I got the form letter and his first (three!) letters exactly two weeks after he arrived. It does get easier. And I do recommend joining your PIR group, and others if you know what his rate is going to be. I have "met" some wonderful, strong women on this site. You will too! We all have your back!

My Daughter got to boot camp 9/24/19. I got her first letter 10/10/19. She says it’s really tough, just like the movies! But she’s hanging in there. I’m missing her terribly, and am so proud of her. Prayers to all the families who are missing their kids tonight.
