Hello NavyplusArmy 1, my daughter is still in the process. Her college graduation is in a few weeks,5/1. She is a delayed entry. She knew early on in college years that she wanted to apply for OCS after college so she started working with recruiter in Jr year with the understanding that final acceptance would be upon graduation (transcripts). Hopefully these dates don't get pushed back after graduation, she is ready to move onto this next step. (we have all been in a wait mode for a while.)

hopefully your son hears something soon.

Then I saw that you posted here so, here's the timeline with my son who just graduated OCS on March 12, 2021. His journey started in Oct 2019 when he enlisted as a "dual processor" which meant that if his OCS application didn't get selected he would have gone enlisted instead. His application was reviewed by the Board on Feb 10, 2020 & he was notified of his acceptance on Feb 27, 2020. It was a looong 2 weeks! Hang in there!

From there my son was originally scheduled for OCS in August 2020 but then covid happened & caused lots of delays with class start dates as the Navy worked to set up quarantine procedures, etc. So, my son finally went in Oct 2020.

Hello MhdMom26. How long did the entire journey take for your daughter from start to 1st day of OCS? How long did it take for your daughter to receive the board results? How long after the board results were received did your daughter have to report to RI? My son's packet was scheduled for the board on 4/12 & he's anxious to get going. Just wanted to get a snapshot of what may be expected.

Hi Judy, Thank you for your reply. I am mentally preparing myself for the "clear as mud" process. I hope all is going well with your son.

At this point, I am still figuring out what my questions are. So much that I don't know, just taking it step by step and drop off seemed like a logical first step and I stalled out there and gladly found this group just as the panic set in. I appreciate yours (and everyone's) time. -Amy

Thank you for the reply and the link information. I have a sense of relief already that I now have access to information and not adrift in this process. I will definitely get busy with reading past posts to see what topics have already been discussed. So happy right now. Thank you again.

Hi MhdMom - We drove my son to OCS quarantine in December and pulled up to the gate and a very serious young man asked if I had orders and I literally didn't know what he was talking about. My son said he had orders and we dropped him at the gate with a duffel bag and weren't allowed to proceed past the gate. I got out of the car to hug my son and made a U-turn. Apparently, if my husband or I were military we would have been able to go farther but we are not. And that was the beginning…

Apparently, if my husband or I were military we would have been able to go farther but we are not. And that was the beginning of an amazing (and confusing) process, that another mom I have connected with accurately describes as "clear as mud." My son is 10 weeks in now and I sent you a friend request and maybe I can answer some questions for you that I had just a few weeks ago. Good luck to your daughter! -Judy

Welcome to N4M - I just wanted to say hi so you knew someone saw you ask. I am not as familiar with the Officer side of things as the enlisted but there are some groups on here for Officers.

With my posting here, you can at least click on my picture and it will take you to my profile page. I have to be gone for awhile but if no one else reaches out to you, I will try to connect you with some other officer moms or groups.

Hugs!
