Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Good Morning,
My son just switched ratings to Aviation Electronics Technician. He was Submarine Electronics. He is Groton. I guess he is now awaiting orders to transfer. Any information will be appreciated! So not expecting this, but I am excited because it looks like he will be closer to me in Florida.

NavyMom21 - Welcome to the Cal Tech world! The cal techs are a small community in the Navy. I haven't run across another cal tech mom in quite awhile! There's a good possibility your son will run into the sailors he's in school with now (including the instructors) further down the road. My son likes his job (I think it's a big part of why he's making a career with the Navy). I hope your son will like it too. Feel free to ask any questions. Tell your son not to bum out too much. Sometimes sailors hear a lot of rumors and think they won't like a certain place but if they have an open mind it could turn out to be a nice place to be. One thing about the Navy you get to move around!

Maggie May, my son is there to learn calibrating as well. He is very happy to get San Diego, but their boat is going in to a dry dock for a year, NOT in San Diego. He is a little bummed about that though.

Candirad - Josh recently got stationed in FL (JAX). He had been on the carrier for 5 years which there was several thousand in that command and now there are less than 40 sailors at his new command - talk about a big change!! He really likes it though. He's being sent to the Bahamas soon to work for a short period of time - the Navy does have it's perks!!!
Sounds like your boys are doing good. How long has your sailor been in now? Is he planning on staying in? He's married now, right?

NavyMom21 - Woohoo love hearing sailors moving on in their Navy path! My son also did C school in Biloxi. He liked it there and yes the AF food is much better!! What is your son going to C school for? Mine did calibrations.

Congrats NavyMom21! You never doubted he'd not pass did you? Glad he is liking Biloxi! San Diego will be so nice. Of course I'm partial being in CA. My Marine son stayed after he got out and was working as an Aviation Mechanic on Helicopters with a private contractor and just moved over to F18's and get's paid quite well. My Navy son is working with drones now. He enjoys it as well. This is such a great education/experience for our boys! Take care!

Well my son passed the A school in P'cola with flying colors. They sent him off to C school in Biloxi. He says the food on the airforce base is so good. He's going to get spoiled there. He was put on night classes so he likes that. Found out he will be headed to San Diego when he's out.

They seem to like Pt. Mugu. It's close to everything and there is a beach on base which makes it private just for Navy families. Housing there is nice as well.
