Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Andrewsmom: My son is at Pt. Mugu and went on a 8-week training in Virginia. He will be staying there awhile. I think our boys have been in the same amount of time.

Hi All! My son is also ATI (4 1/2 years) with a slightly different path than the last few comments. He was at P'Cola for approx. 6 months total time, once he "classed up". His first assignment was directly to an amphibious assault ship and a six month deployment to Asian Pacific. He went to C school after he returned. He was then sent to Pt. Mugu Naval Air Base. While there he has been on a 4 month deployment around South America and is currently with a group on the Teddy Roosevelt aircraft carrier in Persian Gulf (6 month deployment). He's been able to see many interesting ports and countries!

hahah thank you. He was told there aren't many for ATI right now so he might be able to pick anyway, but he will still try for top of his class anyway to try and rank up faster. He ranked up in BC to an E2

Navymom21 - yep a lot of math! I don't know how things work in A school these days but back when my son was in P'cola the sailors who scored the highest got to pick orders first so that's quite an incentive to work hard. Totally up to the Navy though how they give out orders - sometimes sailors get to pick sometimes they don't. Get use to "meeting the needs of the Navy".

My son just got there and they told him his rate as an ATI involves a lot of math. He scored really high on math on the the ASVAB. My son shares a bathroom with an ATI that has been there about 3 months.

Hello ladies! So great to see activity on here. My son is ATI (been in Navy 6 yrs). Your sailors will find out what C school they will be going to when they get their orders towards the end of A school. C school is where they will get specialized training and it can be anywhere. My son did C school for calibrations in Biloxi, MS. He went back a second time for advanced cal tech too. Most ATI's work in a shop/lab either on a ship or on shore. My son has been on an aircraft carrier for the past 5 years but is going to his first shore duty in Florida this spring. He really likes his job in the Navy
Congrats on BC graduation and best of luck in school. Tell them to study hard!

Hi,
my my son is ATI as well. I spoke to him the other day and he said that lots of new guys were arriving at Pensacola for ATI.
My son graduated BC on 10/6/17 and I believ A school started at the end of October.
He is scheduled to graduate A school April 4th. He has guaranteed C school, but we do not know where as of yet, just that it will not be in Pensacola.
