BeachBunny:  My son just went to one of those "CA beach" places as well.  Most likely no deployment though.  The beach sounds really nice right now instead of this Central CA rain!  I think that is so cool your son has been in 18 different countries! How long has he been in?

Good day group!

Welcome Jahappy.....there's a Pcola group, there's lots of information about A school. We'd love to have you on that group too: http://navyformoms.ning.com/group/sailorsinpensacolaflforaschool

My ATO went straight to C school right after A school in Norfolk for 10 weeks before going to his squadron in CA at a high security base on a CA beach....he has had 5 deployments. 2 of those deployments were 9-10 months long. He loves the action on the flight deck of the carrier and going tp the ports. He's been to over 18 different countries.

GAEngteacher....nice orders!..glad to see you on this group now!!

candirad...your ATs journey is similar to my Navy brothers: from CA and only went on a few boat dets up the coast to WA and stationed in San Diego.....my is stationed in CA but is never at his base, always on the move....I hope to get a visit in this May. When heading to SoCal, as I drive by Lemoore NAS on I5 and think of you!

Hi joshmom!!!...hope all is well.  oh, that's a cute pup!.....hummmm I have a "kids" dog too at our house! ..what's up, you asked?....just finished girls varsity basketball season, we kept winning so it never ended....lol..now onto college swimming with my son that wants to be swcc.....I used to work from home and got moved into the office for 6 months, luckily almost done with that shift bid and hope to be back at home soon! As, I like "commuting" to the home office in my pjs and slippers, lol.

Hi Jahappy3 & welcome a well!.  My son is an ATI and after school in Pensacola he went to C school in Lemoore, CA, which was ironic because we are from here.  He has not left shore and probably won't.  Bootcamp can be ovewhelming so send those cards with lots of love!

Good morning ladies and hello there GAEngTeacher! Welcome to the group so glad you jumped onboard.  I love hearing that your sailor is liking his Navy life...makes it a lot less stressful on us moms knowing our kiddos are happy. Cute pic of the dogs!  When my son told me he was getting a dog I asked what he would do if he goes back overseas or back on a ship and he replied "well mom I guess you'll have three dogs" (I have two labs)  LOL yep the things we do for our kids!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend...keep posting we need to get this group going again!

Hi everyone...feel like I'm moving on up to go from boot camp, to Pensacola for A school and now the AT group :) ~ my son was just home for a visit last week and I had to laugh joshmom as first, your grandpuppy is adorable and second, my avatar pix are of the border collie I inherited when my son entered the Navy and the baby beagle who my son insisted I needed to keep HIS dog company! Oh what we'll do for them.  Son's been loving the AT rating having been overseas fromThanksgiving to February and once he gets some certification is hoping he can go back overseas this summer.  He used the extra $ to pay off some bills and I think it's becoming addicting...hope all's well for everyone.  For anyone who's on here and wondering about Pensacola ~ my son had arrived in October and left in March.  Didn't spend much time waiting to class up, bought a laptop through NEX while there and graduated near the top of his class so he was able to have some choice in his duty station Whidbey Island, which he loves..

Wow activity on here!  Made my day!!

All is well with me and my sailor.  I do enjoy having him stateside.  He was just home a couple of weeks ago.  Over the years I have heard many stories about sailors going off and coming home with a lovely girlfriend or wife and the female sailors meeting fine young men too (all such sweet stories) well my son finally brought home someone special this time and I fell instantly in love with her....she's an adorable little blonde...with fur and 4 paws!  Yep my sailor has a puppy!!!  I got a feeling that boy won't settle down till mid life LOL  oh well I'm happy with getting a grandpuppy for now.

Candirad - How long's your son been in now?  Any talk of re-enlisting?  Sure would like him to get the opportunity to venture out

BeachBunny - what's the latest with you?

Take care ladies....it's such a good feeling knowing you're still here!!!

Oh and I gotta show off my grandpuppy - Miss Gweneviere

Hello Navy Moms!  It is funny at the beginning of our Sailor's adventure we're all about help and support and as they get going we slack off.  Fortunately I've had my Sailor in Nevada and California and I'm in Cali so he has not been too far.  He did mumble about "so much for seeing the country", but I know he is learning new skills and has been married over a year now to his wife he met while in school in Pensacola.  BeachBunny keeps us all together and I appreciate it!
