Jeffsmom - E-3 is a rank.....a rate represents a job.

My son is Aircrew Avionics and his rate is AWN(AN). His rank is E-3 at the moment.

My son will be at A school in San Antonio after boot camp.  Can anyone tell me if I go there for a week, will we be able to spend any time visiting?  I don't know how much, if any, liberty they get or if they can leave the base.  Thanks

Caught him on Facebook without even calling me! LOL. At least I got a quick hello and a mailing address finally. I have to remember not to get too mushy with him when we talk! Any suggestions on a care package? What are rooming conditions like in San Diego? I thought about sending one of those collage pictures but not sure if he'd have a place to put it.

My nephew's PIR was 7/15 and is now in "A" school in San Diego. He called when he first got there and said he was safe and bought a new phone....apparently he has forgotten how to call/text since then. It sure was great to see him though.
