Hello,
I am new to N4M. Our son Nathan just joined and took his oath last Thursday. He just told us he leaves for boot camp on 12/01/2010. It is a weird felling of pride and being scared all at the same time. I am looking forward to make friendships and be able to get support as well as be supportive to any one in need.

Stupid me. Just wanted to clarify - in case my farewell message gave the wrong impression. We spoke with our sailor last night. He sounded great. They were out on a short excursion testing equipment etc. etc. Things must have gone well. He is approved to be home for Xmas - just a short stay but at least we'll see him. I am promising that I will not be selfish and I will not stamp my feet and pout if he wants to spend the majority of his time with gf.

Dear Friends,
I was going to wait until after the holidays but with my sailor coming home I have decided to up the timetable. I will be transitioning to a passive role on Navy For Moms.
1) Please drop in more often and spread the sailor news.
2) Remember this is a public site. What you post will be visible to all.
3) Please invite N4M members who are not members of a group to join. I know having friends in many groups has make a real difference in my life. Many new members will need the support of members who have been here longer and more experienced with being a Navy family.

I have been so very fortunate to meet so many wonderful people through Navy For Moms. My life is good. Same house, same husband, same job, same kids (no animals) – at this point in my life, it’s comforting. I am stepping back to concentrate on personal projects. I won’t be gone – just not available on a regular basis. I will stop by periodically to check up on things.

Best wishes to you and your family.
Bea

Cyn,
I am so sorry to hear about your DIL. We keep your family in our thoughts and prayers. I left you a message on your page back last March when you first join N4M as well as a friend request. Please know that there is an extended family of N4M members throughout the Northern CA. Both Trekkiedad and Vickyrun have been to my home even though I live at least a couple of hours away. And I look forward to seeing them again soon. This year has gone by so fast. My son's girlfriend's family is from Ripon. He is also stationed in Hawaii. It has been quiet here so please feel free to join these three groups. You can join as many as you want. If you are getting too many email notifications, just click on "Stop Following .." with your groups, blogs or forum discussions. Feel free to lean on us. Just click on these links and click JOIN.
There is a meet and greet in Hillsborough on Nov 7 and one in Fair Oaks on Nov 14.

What are N4M friends for? You can have a private conversation with friend through the use of the private messaging system. This is not your regular email system. You have to log on to N4M to use it. Click this on INBOX on upper right to see your messages. Just below that you'll see "friends" click on this to see Friends you have, Friend Request and Friend Request you sent out. I just sent you another friend request.
Take care, BQB

Hi all, I live in Ripon. My son is stationed in Hawaii on the USS Pasadena. He was just home on bereavement leave. His wife of one week shy of one year passed away suddenly in her sleep on Sept 18th. It has been a difficult month for sure, but through the many prayers of friends, family, we have pressed through and continue to move forward. I was looking to find a group close to home. Glad i found this group!
