OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Who all do we have out here? Where are your AG's stationed at (if you are comfortable answering)? Are they still loving meteorology? My sailor is back at C School, as I mention below, and is doing great. He kind of fell into the rate, but loves it. It fits him to a T. I am biased, but I think it is the best rate out there. Sound off, who do we have out there?

He just got to Japan late June. I don't know yet if he will stay on base or be on a ship. I know the sailor that showed him around was also in Biloxi when he was there. She graduated a couple of months ahead of him. One of his good buddies went to Norfolk. Kman's mom, awesome that your son got what he wanted. My son's recruiter said their office had only seen that rate three other times! My son said it was long days and tough at times but he really wanted Japan so studied really hard. They rank their choices 1-3, if you are top of class and your choice is available you will get it. He has always wanted to travel and see the world. The second day he was in Japan he was able to hope aboard a C130 and fly to an island where we have a naval airbase. He was so excited and sent us the most beautiful video. He is also a car enthusiast so we get snapshots of all these awesome looking cars! Good luck to your SR. Also there is a Facebook page for Aerographers and families. I met a retired AG that spent 19 years in Japan on there. They post great weather photos.

Thank you . Yes we will be going PIR. We are lucky we are only a few hours from Chicago. Wow Japan that's where my SR wants to go. He has wanted to do meteorology for as long as I can remember. This is the only rating he wanted .

Fantastic on your sailor. How did he do in A School? Yes, C School is back at Biloxi. I don't remember if I told you, my sailor got Norfolk. Being the biggest base in the world they have quite a crew of AGs. Does your sailor have quite a few AGs with him? Is he on a ship or base?

He is in Yokosuka, Japan. It was his first choice and he said he is thoroughly enjoying seeing another part of the world! Is C school also in Biloxi?

Thank you for thanking me (MN Nice sneaking out). I am very happy to have helped you. Has our sailor graduated A School? If so, where did he end up getting stationed? My sailor is going back in Sept to C School.

Proud AG Mama, thank you for all the advice and help you offered when my son was in boot camp! He also did not class up right away. He was there about 3 weeks before he began school. Same deal, he thought he had another week to go and he calls us one night and says he starts the next Monday.

They may not class up right away either. In 2014 my AG thought he was going to be on cleaning crew for a month and then one morning they told him he was late for class. I don't think they start phasing up until class starts. They start by not being able to leave base and not being able to wear civilian clothes except in their room. Then they move up to being able to go for short times off base and being able to wear civilian clothes more. I believe the 3rd and final phase lets them leave base over night.

It is hard to give an exact time. They have phases, each giving them more freedom. I know within a pretty short time our son and some liberty buddies took trips to New Orleans and Pensacola (to see boot camp buddies). These were done over four day weekends. However, if the class messed up, or an individual, they could be knocked back and not allowed liberty. That happened a couple of times. We needed up not going. Our son was able to come home for two weeks before going to his first assignment. Congratulations to your son. You are planning on going to PIR? It was a wonderful experience!!

My son will have PIR 8/12/16 then off to A school for AG. How long do we have to wait till we can go see them in Biloxi
