Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son got his orders with a week or two to go. His orders never changed. He never actually said these are hard orders they just never changed.

Mine just graduated A school and is now off to Meridian, MS. Does anyone know much about anything in Meridian? I will be traveling there in about a month to bring some of this things from home.

It seems to take a while. I have no idea why.I can only guess if they do not pass the physical that they will have to change their rate but I really do no know about that.

My son arrived end of June, he had an appt with the flight surgeon and now waiting for an appt with the psychiatrist- what is the process, how long does it take to get this appt and what are the next steps needed before he can start A School for Air Traffic Controllet?

azmom- my daughter is currently at AC school, it's more like 16 weeks. Sadly my daughter failed an exam, which has set her back a week, started in April, will be done in less than a month now.

AC school says 18 weeks of school but then I read 16 weeks. Can anyone give me some insight as to how long it really is? Just glad that my daughter will finely be starting school after 2 months being at A School.

Good Morning! I feel the same way that is would be good to be closer to home. I do not know anything about Lakehurst. What could be bad about it? Mine is also in A school with verbal orders but mine is going to Meridian,MS and he is not very happy about it only because it is a small town and he just wanted to be by a bigger city. It is not close for me but closer than Spain. lol.. I do not think his orders are going to change. We are all trying to get comfortable with where he is going to be for a while.
