PHXTCORRY...I saw your email at work, and my work computer will not let me go to Navy moms.  I just wanted to tell you...we've all been through that.  Dang, I was the worst.  I missed a call on Valentine day when my son was deployed, and I cried all night! Just know that they are doing such a wonderful thing! Boot camp is probably as hard on the mom's as our sailors!  But just know, my son has since gone on an 8 month deployment, and he loves the Navy! Loves it all!  He is on a plane right now to come home, and I haven't seen him since his ship came in, in June.  It's hard on us, but it is such a great experience for them.  She is in good hands.  I will be thinking and praying for you.  Hang in there.  Just so you know...this site got me through the tough times...don't know what I would have done with out it.  Hang in there mom, and thank your daughter for her service from me!  From one Navy mom to another...love you and be strong!

Welcome PHYTCORRY!  I'm SO sorry you missed her call!  She may be able to call sooner than two weeks, so yes - keep your phone charged, on and with you at all times and be sure the ringer is ON.  It's not just during BC by the way - it gets to be a way of life when they're deployed, too!  You may have to explain to people at work and in meetings that you keep your phone on because you have an active-duty Sailor, they can just deal with it LOL  But most important for now, know that the Navy has chosen her and wants her to be successful, and you and she will be bursting with pride at PIR, so don't worry, all will be well!

My daughter has been gone 2 weeks and was allowed to make her first phone call from boot camp...I am so heartbroken, I missed the call and the voice mail she left had me upset all day.  She was in tears and kept saying how much she missed and loved me.  She said she can call again in 2 weeks and to expect a letter soon.  Guess my phone will not be leaving my side for the next 5 weeks

Dear Arizona Moms - Navyformoms.com is being updated and upgraded, and part of this effort is making room for new members.  To do so, members who have not been active since 12/1/15 will be removed but will be able to re-join.  If you haven't posted since that date, please do so right away if you want to remain an active member and have your past posts remain!  This is all part of an effort to make Navyformoms.com the best it can be for everyone, seasoned moms and new members alike.  Thanks and watch for good things to happen!
