It was great to meet you all on Sunday. We got our first letter form boot camp today and so far so good! He sounded great and said he had meet some cool folks that were going to A school with him there in Great Lakes.

Great time today at Macayo's, and our biggest turnout yet!  Moms of sailors stationed all over shared experiences and we got to welcome bootcamp moms too.  Gale won the distinction of 'traveled farthest,' coming up from Tucson with her husband.  Lots of laughs and good stories all around.  Already looking forward to the next one!

Denise I am so sorry to hear about your son, that is just horrible. I hope they have found the person responsible. Thoughts are with you and your family.

I'm sorry I won't be able to make the Aug. 3rd lunch, I have moved back to San Diego. I'm so glad I was able to make the last one and was able to meet a lot of you ladies on here. Maybe when the next one comes around I will be able to come and pay a visit.

Forgot to mention that Joss and Main nautical section on line shopping has a navy colored pillow with an anchor that can be personalized. Great gift for a sailor

I guess. They were looking for someone who was not in the Navy too long, was physically fit and no behavioral challenges. He is getting additional survivor training. I worry that he will be in higher risk situations. He is already wearing the Marine uniform.

Just got some interesting news. My son is going to be reassigned to the Marines as the need is there. He is likely going to deploy to an area that has been in the news lately. Wasn't expecting that. Quite a game changer. May need to be a Marine Mom. Just getting used to being a Navy Mom after a year.
