This is my first ever post on this website. I appreciate all the conversations and support that I've read here, and I know this will help me as well! So many emotions yesterday seeing her leave, and now I begin the transition to not being able to see/talk/hug her each day. But the pride I have outweighs that for sure. Thanks in advance for any and all support :)
Hello to all the new moms! You can do this!! My daughter left for BC in April and is finishing A School now, then has orders for FL in October. BC was one of the hardest things she's done, but it helped her see that everyone has an important role to play and she thinks the Navy will become a career for her. Encourage your daughter, write to her every day, even about the boring things! Keep her spirits up and the time will pass quickly. Hooyah!
Molly's Proud Mom - Glad to hear the update on your daughter!
JnukeMomma - you've come to the right place for support! Lots of info in lots of groups - just take it one day at a time. Know that your from letter should arrive in about 9-14 business days. Then you can join the PIR group for your daughter. Count Fridays (approximately 9) rather than individual days - it helps the time pass quicker. Keep your phone handy, but remember, no news is good news! Hang in there!
Thank you so much! I can't wait for that form letter!
JnukeMomma - Welcome aboard!! You are not alone!
JnukeMomma - congrats to your daughter. Seems like just yesterday our son left for BC. He left back in mid-October. The time sure does fly. There is SO much information here. We are here. Hugs, another Navy mom.
My son left on Thursday, that call at 1AM on Friday broke me. He sounded so tired. Can't wait to see his box arrive then recieving his form letter. God Bless you, he will keep your daughter safe. Three weeks till we hear their voice again. Stay positive. She has got this. Remember no news is good news.
The 9/27/19 PIR group is up now - here's the link:
I finally received the form letter! Not from the recruiter as I had expected, but from my daughter, included in with two letters from her! I am so relieved to finally hear something. It took 17 days! She sounds like she is doing really well so far. She was held an extra week prior to even starting P-days. I don't really understand why (it wasn't for medical or anything specifically with her). So her PIR is Oct 4th. I did find that link and joined the group. I am so happy to be able to write to her now! :)
JnukeMomma - I know how ecstatic you are right now!! Wow, that is unusual to receive written letters with the form letter. Consider this an exception to the normal!
You commented not realizing that the form letter would come from your daughter and not the recruiters. I guess that is probably something we need to make sure we emphasize, as it probably can be confusing.
