Vanessa, the anchor is a decoration many people put on their hotel doors at PIR with division and ship #, name, HOOYAH! etc. A lot of people find them at Hobby Lobby. It's not necessary just fun. I hung ours on the door with a christmas wreath hanger. I have it on my son's door at home now. :)

It is a different kind of hard. I miss my son sooo much. I also anticipate the next kind of hard! A school, for my son is in Great Lakes. He will still be 2,000 miles from home but I hope and pray we can actually talk and FaceTime. Excited for everyone who gets to de their loved ones soon. What’s the anchor I see people order?

I totally understand what you are trying to say and are feeling. I'm the same way. I think we are just feeling for them SO much, that it is hurting us more than them. It seems like I'm feeling everything she feels and more. It's almost like I can't stand knowing she's trying to just stay strong, worried about academic and physical testing, missing family, home, etc. I honestly just try to give my worries to God so I can focus on the positive, but we are human and we are moms and there's…

It's almost like I can't stand knowing she's trying to just stay strong, worried about academic and physical testing, missing family, home, etc. I honestly just try to give my worries to God so I can focus on the positive, but we are human and we are moms and there's that connection that just causes everything to pull at our heartstrings. You are so right, that it's hard to explain and put into words! But this is good for them and for us and I just keep telling her (and really myself as well) that once she graduates, A school will be different because we will be able to communicate on a regular basis, send packages, and even visit. I'm worried by the time that gets here, then she'll be over it and won't need it as much - lol!! Hang in there, we'll all get through this together!!
:o)tag:navyformoms.ning.com,2019-01-14:1971797:Comment:104965642019-01-14T04:36:15.943Zlemonelephanthttps://navyformoms.ning.com/profile/lemonelephant

I definitely think there are phases we all go through. At first I was like, oh, all will be well once we can communicate! But I had thought we'd be communicating a lot more once we got his address, but they only get to write on Sundays usually. So we didn't get a ton of letters. And at some point, I was like "Enough already! Why can't this just be over!" And it is tough at the end as you agonize, wondering how they're doing on their final tests. But you're also waiting on a spouse, so I…

But you're also waiting on a spouse, so I think that's got to be a slightly different experience than waiting on a child. Hang in there! Keep busy, think positive thoughts. Make the anchor for her, research things to do on liberty after PIR. and for Liberty she said she just wanted to eat pizza and go back to the hotel lol so my twin sister and I ordered a bunch of Navy stuff (Amazon even has Navy balloons!) and were going to decorate the room and set up all her favorite snacks and shower stuff so she can feel relaxed and homey! (Wow that was one long run on sentence! haha)
