Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

They'll find the training exciting ("mom!! I just hit 8 IVs in a row in a helicopter!! ...""Mom! we had 9 Marines go down in the heat, one even arrested, it was GREAT..oh, yeah, we saved him, don't worry, it was so cool!!" ) They spend alot of time running with 250 lbs thrown over their shoulders, their legs get huge! If they go greenside and then deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan, they'll hit 29Palms with their Marines, training with the Marines as a Marine basically plus doing their own job as corpman. Marines love their corpsmen...take great care of them. At that point they are working on earning FMS, field medic qualification. Not all get it.

My son really didn't talk to me about it much... When Mike was going through all of his training I had just loss my mother and was thinking of moving closer to my brother.... Not a good time for our family.. Thank goodness I didn't
move !!!
I will ask him when he calls next...

My son is a corpsman for the Marines ... He is Navy gone Green... I am very proud of him and what his job is.. Not sure if that is what your even wanting to see ... If not then I am sorry ...

FMTB links is listed above, monica...take a look. One school is in CA the other in NC. Just because he attends and passes FMTB does not mean he will go greenside (serve with Marines) altho those that volunteer usually do (my son volunteered as well...) If he stays in the Navy, he will probably be offered another attempt for a C school after he serves some time greenside.
