While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I had a great time over Christmas with my youngest sailor. I even finished a x-stitch of his Dolphins. It was a small project but took a while because is was done on navy blue fabric. We have about 5 inches of snow on the ground, its 15 degrees and we are expecting a storm on Friday. Perfect weather to stay at home and x-stitch.

Leslie, They have x-stitch magazines at JoAnn's Fabrics & Crafts and at Micheal's. The one I get is called X-Stitch Magazine. Good luck on your hunt. I have some extra patterns if you are interested I'll send them to you. Just contact me on my page.

Leslie, I believe the ADM is now retired. I was just wondering if they still remember him at the Academy. Flying is good, being a Nuke is better, but flying is good.LOL

Leslie, Alex's sub is stationed out of Groton, Conn. At the moment they are where abouts unknown. That is they are on Deployment. Yes I found the Sub Pin. Years ago I did the Officer's Surface Warfare pin for my husband. He graduated from the Academy in 1976. I can't believe its been so many years, it seems like yesterday. We still go to the occasional Football game because we have friends that live just outside the side gate of the Academy. Has your son decided where he will go after graduation or is he keeeping his options open? My husband went Nuke, so when Alex enlisted he followed his Dad and became a Nuke as well.

Hi Leslie, My son just loves having mids on board his sub. They take them through the full sub experience. He especially likes the emergency blow. That's when they surface so fast they shoot up out of the ocean. He tells me that the hang time as they surface causes several seconds of weightlessness. The squids know enough to hang onto something, but they frequently neglect to tell their guest (midshipmen). So you might want to warn your son, even if it spoils the fun. Alex is a Nuke ET, that makes him a reactor operator on a fast attack sub.

Hi everyone, I've just joined this group, but I've been doing cross stitch for about 30 years on and off. Years ago I did a surface warfare pin cross stitch and a Naval Academy seal. My son just earned his Dolphins. He's stationed on the USS Miami which is a fast attack submarine. I would like to do his submariners pin. Does anyone have any idea where I could find a pattern?
