I just joined this group to learn a little bit more about EOD prep. My son is in BC just arrived Thursday 12/13 and has an EOD contract.
How is everyone and their sailors doing?
Thanks @ supenavymommy ... Yes my son did earn that. Thank God. He is also doing fantastic in school as of now. I pray every day he continues. I have said this to him once ... "Where is my son and what have you done with him?" I have always know he had it in him and it is because he is now doing something that HE wants and he will EXCEL!!
One more thing, my son asked if he could take liberty anytime and he was told no since he is still a student. He has hoping to take time off while he was waited to class up but no go.
Home after seeing my sailor and boy is it a VERY hard 9 weeks. He was rolled once because he missed some bay swims.
Also we did ask some of the guys that just graduated last friday and the ceremony was less of a big deal than pre-dive....so I guess that means no family invited.
Base is much easier to get on with your sailor and your ID's plus car info. A very small base.
One quick note, they do have cabins that you can rent by the water. don't know prices but there are 4 of them also there is a hotel and that is where the guys stay and again don't know prices on that.
My son said anyone going into dive tell them to practice with fins, that really adds a lot of stress on their legs/hips.
DJsmom, congrats to your son!! I know he worked for that!!!
My son graduated Dive School today!! Moving on up to EOD School now!! Such a proud Mommie I am!! Eglin here he comes ... Congrats to all in 12-50 EOD Navy Dive HOOYAH!!
Regina, thanks for the information.
MamaG, My son is in EOD school right now and they do not get to come before heading to Florida. If you are close you can go visit him we did. I don't know about dive prep, but they can have cars in dive school. If he has one you can take it to him.
To supernavymommy, my son has an EOD contract and is currently at Boot Camp. After EOD prep school do they get any time to come home before starting their training in Florida? All his buddies keep asking if he'll get to come home for a couple of days before heading on.
