My son just passed Dive Prep in GL. Soooo proud of him for passing. He graduated BC April 13. Started Dive prep May 16 ... I am wondering if any of your sons are in with my son?
Levada and Addy,, Dive prep is tough for some easier for others. The most important thing is for them to listen, do exactly what they say and how they want it. Dont give up and hopefully they are good in the water. They will target those who arent right from the start. 20 from my sons BC class started, 6 went on to dive school. Dive prep is to weed out anyone not cut out foe the job. They go thru a weed out process for each phase. Most important they need to take it seriously. BC was a picnic compared to what they are about to embark on. Im not trying to be harsh, just real. I had 4 other moms, that kept very close during dive prep, mine was the only one who made it. Another was rolled to this new class, the others are in other jobs now. Support your guys and each other. So important.
Good luck to both of your sons and all in this crazy ride.. No one understands like we do.
My son also graduated BC last Friday. I also welcome any advice. I understand that Dive Prep will be very difficult.
well my son graduated BC last friday. our new journey begins. any advice will be welcomed with open arms
Thank you Tim, if my son is anything it is being completely comfortable in the water. He was 6 out of 20 from his division that made it through EOD prep. He is also one to fly under the radar, and knows to keep his head low. Unfortunately dive school is more physical, includes serious studying and 10-13 hour days. The weekends are his only rest but that includes studying and trying to get off base to just escape a little to keep his head clear. He knows all too well how serious they are about keeping your nose clean and staying out of trouble. I think once the next week or so passes by, his body will be used to the routine,,, on autopilot. He is already certified to dive so he has a little headstart in that regards, but I know dive school is much more in depth. He is smart, just want him to take care of himself.
I appreciate the info, very much.
Anyone else have anything to add :D
