While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

We see fewer recruits going to FIT now that there has bee a change at the RTC and most recruits are ASMO'd to a division in a later TG with a PIR date rather than to FIT, but some still go to FIT. See Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) and Fitness Improvement Training (FIT).

He gave us his new address and just stressed no grad date at this time. 10 seconds off the run is something he can do....well he WILL do. So for now we just pray and write and pray and write! Smooth Seas Never Made a Skilled Sailor......and right now the seas are rough! But he can do this!

Comment by Navmom on August 18, 2018 at 12:24pm: HI AbbyF. Perhaps things have changed since my son went thru boot camp. Back then they were not sending anyone to FIT, but rather being ASMO'd which means they were put in another division giving them more time to pass their PFA but they still graduated. The FIT program, as I understand it; would allow SRs to take their final PFA up until 10 times until they pass, but they won't graduate and just go to A school. If they don't pass, they will be separated. Both alternatives are good, we just want all our sailors to pass. Write to your sailor and encourage him to do whatever it takes to pass. Even run with the faster runner and keep up with that SR the day of his PFA.

This is nerve wrecking since we can't do anything for them, and all this is on them, but keep the faith and write to him constantly. I wrote to my son everyday hoping that our letters would give him the encouragement and faith he needed. He did pass and now is on his first deployment, but I remember feeling helpless the day he called saying he had been asmo'd. Prayers to your SR.

Comment by AbbyF on August 18, 2018 at 12:02pm: We got the call yesterday they my son missed his final PFA run by 10 seconds. He has been moved to FIT. I know there really isn’t any way to know what the next week or two will look like. Can anyone shed some light on it for me?

Comment by lemonelephant on May 26, 2018 at 1:09am: Heather, since your recruit just arrived this week, if you have not gotten a phone call from your recruit by the end of the ninth business day after your recruit arrived at the RTC saying that he has been sent to SEPS, then you will know that he has passed the initial run and has begun training.
