OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

It depends on the command. Unfortunately, I am not sure how this works, my fiancé is only headed to a very long A school, but if you're worried about planning a vacation or something, sometimes the command might allow a couple days leave between if he fills out a chit. Also, the station will likely stand down around the holidays (like a long weekend without classes or duty except when they're scheduled to be on watch). Fortunately, since you're married, you might be able to live with him during school depending (again) on his school's command. I think your best bet would be to schedule something around the holidays if he's advanced enough in his liberty phases by then, assuming that's what you're trying to do.

Thank you for your input. I'm just wondering when I'll be able to move out of my moms house into our 1st duty station. I'm just looking forward to living with him again!

Just make sure he has you enrolled in DEERs, so you get BAH while he's gone at basic. This can really help pay the bills while he's away, be put into savings, or if his liberty phases allow for it, he could visit you living near by off base and sometimes get chits to be out overnight. It's best to look into the school for these answers, maybe there is even Pensacola group on here with more answers. I'm sorry I couldn't help you more. Best of luck!

Don't depend on that timeline. The 18/19 weeks if A and C school only accounts for actial class time it doesn't account for any hold times they might have. Most don't start school right away, they're on hold for some length of time either waiting for the class to fill up with students, waiting for an instructor, funding, any number of reasons. My husband was arrived at his A school in November but didn't start until some time in December; when it ended in February he was on hold until April or May before he started C school (this was in 2011/12 so I don't remember exact lengths). If you want a more accurate timeline see if there is a group on here for your husband's A school - theu can tell you what the hold times are currently like so you can pretty much guess. But Allison is correct, when you're married you may be able to live with him. I don't think 18 or 19 weeks is long enough for the Navy to pay for the move but if you move yourself there and he has reached a certain liberty phase he may be able to apply for a chit to live off base with you. Another reason to try to find that group - they can answer those questions! Some A schools won't authorize that and some will.

The 18 and 19 weeks are minimum "seat time" only. He'll be there longer. There is a few days or a week of indoc to introduce them to the base, liberty policies, and duty sections. Then he has to wait to class up. There have to be enough students to start a class, that can take a few weeks or more. At a guess, he'll be at school nearly a year.
A and C school are usually separate orders. It would be normal for him to take a week's leave between the two schools.

He is in the IT program. Maybe I'll just plan to move to Florida in November regardless then....on my own dime of course. Do you know how BAH would work if I moved to Florida? Do they just adjust the amount I get to what Pensacola BAH is? Thanks for your help! Unfortunately, this is going to suck to be honest. But hey, that's the navy for ya huh? Lol
