Hello hello! So I have a question...
My husband was originally going to reenlist once (he is on sea duty right now so he would have shore duty) and get out of the Navy at the age of 30, but he just recently told me that he really doesn't want to do that, he would rather go back to school.
So my question to all of you is, would it be better if he got out of the navy after his current enlistment and used his GI Bill to go back to school or should he reenlist one more time and go to school while he is on shore duty? Does anyone have any experience with education options in the Navy?

I don't think there is a "better" option just what works better for you guys. If he is in school while he's still in the Navy he most likely will not be able to go full-time, he may be able to take 1 or 2 classes a semester, and the Navy is generally very supportive of Sailors continuing their education so his command will walk him through the process of submitting the course for payment through the Navy etc - the Navy will pay for everything (tuition and books) while he is still enlisted (at least they do for my husband). If he prefers to get out and go to school full-time the Navy will pay for your final PCS move to where ever you want to go so he can go to whatevrr school he would like, which can be beneficial for you guys if you really don't want to stay where you're stationed, and they will pay for BAH at the current rate while he is a student. I don't know what the GI Bill covers as far as tuition and books since my husband is still AD and we haven't gotten to that point yet.
ETA this all just based on my limited experience.
