Any moms in the Chicago area: On Sept. 17, the Villa Park VFW is having their 2nd annual Welcome Home and Thank You Veterans Event. One of their goals is to supply information to the public on how to get involved and show support to our troops. Molly's Adopt A Sailor will have a table at the event. They are expecting between 2000 to 5000 people to attend. The hours are 9AM to 4PM. Could anyone in the area commit to a few hours or the whole day? LMK, Pat

So I had an amazing weekend visiting my sailor(: there were some minor travel related snags but seeing him made everything better(:

3.5 hours of delays on my way there, my carryon bag (everything I brought) was gate checked. The airline lost it. I didn't get it until about 2am saturday so I had to buy a swim suit at the beach Friday (yay for $60 bikini UGH) but anyway, the beach was SO MUCH FUN(: The water was the perfect temperature and the waves were the right size to jump into without worrying about going under. We played in the water for hours! Before dinner he took me for a nice walk along the beach at sunset(: Then we went to a little restaurant on the beach overlooking the water with his friends, it was fun and the food was great. Then he had to go back so we let the cab drop me off at my hotel.

Saturday he got to my hotel at about 830am and we just hung out until noon. We went to the mall and saw the movie "Captain America" with friends, it was actually pretty good. We also went to the big NEX and mini NEX, then ended the day with like 2 hours of bowling. It was also really fun(: My friend from my PIR group got there saturday morning so after we had to drop off the guys we stayed up all night and hung out and went to get them at 5am on Sunday. We spent all of sunday just hanging out at the hotel together watching TV like we used to(: It was a great weekend and I will be back in 24 days! Let the countdown begin!

Coming home I was about 2 hrs late do to delays and a computer board breaking which led to me being home at the gate but literally stuck in the plane for about 40min. Now I am home though and wishing I never had to leave south Carolina!
