Oh Pam, when I got "the box", I washed everything except the sweatshirt and I would occasionally bury my face in it just to smell him. My sailor was just home on leave after being gone for almost a year. After he left, I didn't wash his sheets for about 10 days! Okay, so I'm strange, sue me!!!! LOL! LOL!

Pam no I didn't smell his clothes. As soon as I opened the box the smell hit me. LOL It was good though. Our dog even tried running off with one of his socks. Gave me a great memory.

Welcome psmom3, like Barb said we have all been there and we known how you feel. We are all here for you, you can express your feelings and we all understand.

medic mom 2 glad you got your box. Did you smell the clothes? I did, smelled just like my son, took me sometime before I could wash them.

Well my box arrived today. Now waiting on the form letter. Just keeps hitting me on waves. Reality just keeps sinking in. I am proud of my sailor. Just miss him more than I ever thought I would.

I am new to this group, and to the site period for that matter. The site is nice but there are so many groups to join, it is almost overwhelming! We are in central Illinois in Decatur and are awaiting the time for our son to go to boot camp. Sometimes I get on here and I cry just reading some of the posts from moms whose kids just left for camp. I am not looking forward to this day but feel that there is a family on here that can help me when the time comes. Thanks for listening as I am pretty sure I joined the right group!
