Hi all, my babygirl left for bootcamp on the 27th. Anyone's kid leave than? I got the last call that evening about 10:30pm and my heart just broke. "The Box" arrived Thursday. Waiting now for her letter with dates and info in. I'm retired military now I know what my parents went through so many years ago.

Tracykj, you should NOT mail letters until you get The Form Letter. You should NOTmail letters based on an address that another recruit has. Up to four divisions are filled on any given day, but up to four other divisions may have also begun to be filled on the same day. If you do not guess correctly on the address, then the letters could be returned to you ir nay take several weeks to get to your recruit.
Recruits arriving on the same date can also have PIR a week apart, which is the case for those with recruits in Divisions 313 and 314 (PIR 09/18/2015) and Divisions 319 and 320 (PIR 09/25/2015).
If you don't have The Form Letter by 08/10/2015, then go ahead and call the recruiter and get the address and mail letters to your recruit, but be sure to double-check the address against those at http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp or Ship/Division--How it Works.
Be patient. Ten days after arrival is the average time to receive The Form Letter and that is today, but since that is the average, that means some will receive it before that and some will receive it after that. Most (not all) have The Form Letter by 14 days after arrival and the recruit will be in the permanent ship by that time, which is why we say it is fine to check with the recruiter if it has been AT LEAST 2 WEEKS since your recruit arrived at the RTC and you have not received The Form Letter.
Ari's Mom, My son left 28JUL15, I too am retired military and when I was a 18yr old, it never occurred to me how my parents felt when I left, now I know and it is hard. When I deployed during Desert Storm, I can only imagine how my mom felt. But, she never let me know how scared she was for me so I am trying very hard to be strong for my son but it is the not knowing hw they are doing that is the worst part. Hopefully soon we can hear their voice and know that they are fine.
HI momRN, its just overwhelming at times. I never really thought about what my parents were going through when I would deploy or when I was stationed overseas and they wouldn't hear from me for weeks cause I was to busy enjoying my experience. WOW my babygirl better not do me like that I don't think I could be as patient as my parents were.
Hi Ari's mom, it sure is overwhelming. I still have no box or letter. I called his recruiter today and he said he would check for me, that was at 1430, have not heard back from him either. This is driving me crazy!!! I have been single parent for most of his life, his dad left when he was 2 and he never saw him after that so I was mom, dad, preacher, teacher and nurse. I stitched him up, made him work hard and taught him to never give up so I believe he is ok, it's just not hearing anything that is driving me nuts.
Oh momRN I understand I was a single mom til she was 9 left her daddy while she was still baking in my belly. Remarried now, but I still after all these years feel she's all mine so I was like you her everything. I still have one at home so she keeps me busy.
My son also arrived 7/29/15. He is our second in two years to experience this awesomeness. We received his box Aug 4...so just waiting for the letter with his address...
My daughter left on the 28th. It was so, so hard! I can't wait to get the first call or letter from her. What Div/Ship is she?
Mine is in Ship 03 and Div 315. Do you know what yours is in yet?
