Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My daughter leaves two weeks from today and my heart is heavy. Love and prayers to all that is sturggling with letting go. =)

We saw our daughter off and it was so hard to keep from falling apart. We are so used to it by now but it never changes. I could write a book here but won't- we are all feeling it. It's not like a kid taking off for college like some kids who never grow up and still want mommy to do laundry or Dad to fork over money for the frat. This is sending off kids on a great mission and also on to their lives. I find myself welling up with tears several times a day but try not to go on about it. Just the passage of time it goes forward no going back. Make every moment count and tell these idiot fathers out there to say I love you to their kids. Moron insecure men that can't tell their kid I love you. Will it kill em? Breaks my heart- I saw that at DEP and saw this BIG kid shipping out you saw it in the young man's eyes- yearning to hear that from his Dad. I wanted to go slap the dad. It's a bit late when you are at Arlington National Cemetery to say that so tell your husband or other dad figure to frickin say "I love you" at least whisper it as your son or daughter leaves home. It does NOT make them weak- the weak ones cannot address their feelings and turn into cold abusers. Navy SEALS do NOT walk that talk- they love and care. It's the selfish that don't.
