Hi tammy8! Yes, my son is slated for that day as well.

We can do this!!!

Hello I'm new to this as well my son leaves on oct 6th as well would love to get to know you.

Me too. We need to keep in touch so we can go through this together.

Yes my son leaves October 6.

I have a a feeling that these months are going to fly by fast

Hello. I am new to this site so still learning how to use it. My son leaves October 26, 2015. He is hoping to leave earlier. One of his buddies was supposed to leave June 9th but got a call and leaves April 21st (six weeks after swearing in). Has anyone else got a call to leave earlier or mentioned the chances of leaving earlier?

my son leaves out of October 27, 2015.  my son was told the other day that if something came open in his area before that he could leave out before then. so guess it is a wait and see until the end of October.

Jpz123, your then recruit will have the usual 9 Fridays and have PIR on 12/29/2017--or maybe 8 Fridays and have PIR on 12/22/2017 since he is shipping on a Monday if he is placed in a Push Division and is in one of the last divisions from the week before. He will not be at BC longer because of the holidays. Some who ship in late November or in December sometimes do end up with 10 Fridays if they ship at the end of the week, but seldom those shipping before then and not for those who ship at the beginning of the week. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.

As far as shipping early, most of the time for those who are shipping in any month other than December (they get moved around due to the holiday stand down), it is up to the future Sailor if he takes an earlier ship date if it is offered. Those dates are offered when a future Sailor with the same contract is unable to ship for some reason and so the contract is open for another future Sailor to take.

Check your My Page.

Also, note the date of the discussion.

We have not.

I hope I can get to know you. I have my moments but I think with the help of talking to someone going through the same thing will help.
