Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

You never know with the info you get from recruiters. Some recruiters have misread info that is on the computer and sometimes info is not originally entered correctly at the RTC so that the info available is incorrect. It could be that the info is correct, but it really surprises me.

My son is the outgoing social type that would be the first one to volunteer if it involves playing with a rifle or proudly telling everyone about his brothers and cousins in the military, so it wouldn't surprise me.
Paula's son is very shy though but he's a bodybuilder so he could have been chosen for his upper body strength if they needed someone to hold a flag I guess.

I have new news! I called our recruiter this morning and asked him to verify the address he gave me and Paula for our sons, since we were told that they were in the 906 division. He called the "Powers That Be" and verified that they are on Ship 2 Div 906 and that our PIR will be on 12-13-13. I asked why they would be in 906 and he told me that they put Nukes in that division or the 905 division pretty often. He wasn't able to tell me why, but now we at least know more than we did. Gotta go mail those letters now :-)

That is wonderful news! My husband isn't in the nuke program either...he is CTR. When I came work this morning his recruiter wasn't there (I work across the parking lot from their office.) If he's in later I will give him a call or I guess wait until tomorrow.

I left message with recruiter, hopefully I'll hear something. My Son will be in the AV / AT program. They must have just had extra P days waiting for others in their division.

I tried to stop by and see the recruiter here at lunch but alas he's out of the office today.

I was told by my uncle, retired navy, that the letters come 10-14 days after being assigned to a division and they aren't always put in a division right that day. Plus our boys went right before a holiday weekend which couod also cause a delay. Not what I wanted to hear but it does make sense.
