Is it okay to send letters in business sized  envelopes ? I just seen on a Facebook page that those will get sent back? Only small envelopes allowed ?

Hi! My son is in week 4 of boot camp and has gotten a ton of mail already (not all from me either) and while he likes it, I'm sure he is running low on space. What do you recommend I send him so he can send that mail home?

I agree with both of you. Stay upbeat and encouraging. There is time for them to discover the things that have happened later.

Hi Tiffytat, cute name!! My son asked for some current events/ world news too, I struggle with what to share since we'd be having discussions if he were here. I am sticking to the encouraging and uplifting stories!

In one of my recent letters from my SR, he wanted to know about current events in the news. I can't fathom telling him about anything that will deter his focus so I decided to create a newsletter for him telling him of the news of our family inclusive of recent family photos. He can find out about all of the other stuff after PIR.

lynnette, When sending letters, you must have the name of a recruit or Sailor to send letters to. Since you now have a Sailor, it will be harder for you to send letters to the RTC to "any recruit', but MAMom2009 has a plan. I'm not sure how it will go, but you can check out Stand Alone Recruits and Letters.

You can check with your Sailor and see if there is anyone who needs some extra encouragement and then send a little Navy Mom love.

Check out Molly's Adopt A Sailor.
