My son was originally given orders for prototype school in Ballston Spa this past Monday but today was told he will be on Grad hold. Does anyone know what that means?

I keep seeing things posted about a watch, but there are restrictions on the type of watches they can wear? It has to be all black? He will be going to Nuke school right after boot camp.

Hi Everyone!

My name is Liz, and my son just reported, yesterday, for duty on the prototype reactor in upstate NY for the next 6 months.

I think I'm doing ok, as far as being nervous about him working with the reactor. I think the real nerves will set in once he's done there and is sent to a sub or carrier for the next 4 years.

I just wanted to touch base here with other folks with kids and loved ones in the nuke program.

Ok SO! I've been down here for 6 months already.. husband is an ET and he FINALLY graduated A - school on the 29th of Oct. Our car payment, student loans, comcast bill, phone bill, etc is very overwhelming.. and it leaves us with very little money for groceries. It's just rough right now. I guess it could be worse, but it's bad enough to the point where I need at LEAST a part-time job. I certainly don't have the money to pay 100% out of pocket to daycares or home childcare providers.. I guess it could be worse, but it's bad enough to the point where I need at LEAST a part-time job. I certainly don't have the money to pay 100% out of pocket to daycares or home childcare providers.. I don't really like the idea of working 8 hours a day, not seeing my kids, only for 2 dollars an hour because I'm giving most of my paycheck away that I need.

So I looked online for childcare assistance and it seems as if the program down here isn't being funded I guess.. not enough money. When I talked to a lady at the child care center on base, she told me to call my husband's commanding officer and explain our situation.. but I'm not sure how to go about it all. So it lead me to come here once again for advice from my awesome & helfpul Nuke wives.

So if anyone can help me out, let me know!

Thanks!!
STA-21tag:navyformoms.ning.com,2010-09-22:1971797:Topic:41841572010-09-22T11:45:05.616ZKristen (Greg, Nuke ET3's Wife)https://navyformoms.ning.com/profile/kristen62490
My husband is considering joining the officer program... He's 22 (birthday was in July).. and he'll be signing up for the ACTs asap. I was just wondering if anyone has any info on it? And if the guys get to choose what college they go to? I searched and for the Nuke officer program, they give a list of schools.. My husband was excited that Purdue is on the list because he went to school there for 2 years before joining the Navy. So he'd like to pick there if he could! So any info would be…
