OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

WaterLily - Nice that you were able to do a family vacation - I'm sure you made some good memories!  What day does your son leave?

Monday should definitely be optional.  Ugh!  I feel especially tired today, as our family just got back from vacation and now we're sending our future sailor off to boot camp this week.

Hi all - Happy Friday!

SubMom - thanks for sharing this - I wish I was in MI so I could go to it!  Hopefully there will be a good turnout.

I just got permission from Kim F. to post this event from the FB page Navy Moms in Michigan:

Tour of the LST 393, lunch, then tour of the USS Silversides in Muskegon on July 13 @ 10:00 am. This is open to family (not just moms).

It sounds like a lot of fun. It will be a nice opportunity to meet other Navy families. Have a great weekend!!
