OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

I haven't been on here for a minute - we were on vacation up in the Keewenaw Peninsula a couple of weeks ago and then last weekend spent the day at Communiversity at WMU followed by a whole day at the Muskegon Irish Festival. I had to come back to work just so I could rest :)

WaterLily - congrats to your son! I hope he enjoys Pensacola. I loved growing up there - lots to do! I hope you get to visit soon!

B'sNukeMoM - love the pictures from the engagement party! Sounds like you had a great time with family.

I'm glad everyone made it safely through the storms - we somehow missed all of it in our area. It seemed to split and go around us.

Well, Friday Eve is here. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

That's great news WaterLily.  I sent B care packages often via USPS and they were always there within 2 days (from CA) to South Carolina, then to New York and finally to VA.  It's always fun seeing how much you can cram into those boxes lol!

Exciting milestone reached for me yesterday! My son is settling in at A school in Pensacola and I shipped him his first care package on Monday. It only took 2 days via USPS Priority, so he called me yesterday afternoon as he was going through his box. He was excited. I was excited. Woohoo! I have always loved to send care packages to military friends but now it adds a whole new layer of meaning when it’s to my very own sailor. Thanks you USPS!!!
