That is so wonderful that Erik will be home for Christmas! Does he know where he will be deployed in October, or just that he will be?

Thanks for sharing the article. I sometimes think that those that support the military usually think of those overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq and don't think about all those serving in other countries as well as here in the states. I know that there are those serving with my daughter in Japan that don't receive care packages from home and from time to time ask Katie 'when's your mom making cookies again?' They really look forward to the cards, letters and treats.

Ruth VH, thank you for the encouragement. It really is frustating, but I understand how this happens.

Dawn, so glad you are having such an awesome time. I have been on AF Base and have experienced just what you are talking about. It is really something to watch everything come to a stop when the National Anthem plays. The sonic booms are something else too. Really neat!

Brandy, I know you are very nervous about Chris' MEPS and will keep him and you in my prayers. Congrats that he finally got his approval! Allen was verbally told that he is going to Dog Trainer School in January, again. The last time he was told that he was going in November they never came thru with his hard copy paperwork. The Navy told him that they didn't have the funds to send him at that time. I hope and pray that this time he is allowed to go. He has been so patient and hopeful that he will be able to go and complete his training. Please remember him in your prayers. Thank you!

Many of you may remember from last year - Go to the link below and you can send a card too. Xerox is mailing them. You pick the card you want to send and they mail them! It doesn't get any better than that!!

Joellen - sounds like a great experience to be able to go on the Tiger cruise. How is your whole family going? Did your daughter get 'sponsors' for everyone? Where will the cruise start and end?
