Kathy, mine is a hospital corpsman in Sasebo.  He works as a medavac clerk at the clinic.  So he sends alot of people up to Yokosuka. He's been there since early October.

gitti - write, it will help.  Katie was at BC for Thanksgiving, but her PIR was in early December.  We were very fortunate to have her home for Christmas before A school.  Last year she flew home from Japan for Christmas.  This year it will be the 30th.  It may be hard on us, but may be harder on them.  Try to get as many friends and family to write her or send her Christmas cards.  If you friend me and give me her address at BC, I would be happy to send her a card as well;)

Looks like many of you will be having your sailor home for the holidays.  I will eventually be able to say that....lol  She is spending her birthday today and then the rest of the holidays in boot camp.  I see I can gain alot of wisdom from your experiences and all the things I have to look forward to and not look forward to as she enters the different phases of the Navy.

Congratulations to all of you who have their sailors coming home for the holidays.  Enjoy them!!  Mine will be staying in Japan, but am grateful for the good roads today as his younger brother travels home from Kalamazoo for Christmas break.

Danny is coming home today!!  It will be good to see him.  I think it will be good for him to relax, sit back and reflect on how much his life has changed since October 3.  He's at A school at FLW and then on to MS.

Woo hoo!  16 hours or so until my son's flight lands at Metro.  And then he's home for two weeks.  He wanted a white Christmas, and that wish he'll get.

So fun to hear of the sailors making it home, especially those from the warmer locations.  Brrrr.   LOL

Quick question Ruth, what size gen do you have?  I would like to get one soon and have it do the same for us.  or at least run the furnace.  My Dad lives with us and he doesn't do so well with the little back up wood stove we have.

Talked to my Sailor last night, he is sooo ready to come home for a bit.  Wonder  how long it will be befor he is ready to go back?  come on Sunday!

Have a great day Everyone!

Congratulations btmom to your Sailor!  Might just be getting a nice generator this year as it would be a bummer to lose power for to long and our pipes break.  Wood stove is just for fun not heat as it is in one end of the house .  Glad everyones power is back on. Let's hope that all travels are nice and easy for those who are coming home for Leave, here and back.  Now were did i put my fuzzy sox?
